That's more or less my point, though. The reason it was fairly safe to assume that a person with technical skills was a male is because society was structured in a way that only empowered males to attain those skills. Engineering is not an intrinsically male activity, and it's certainly not safe to assume that only males have APTITUDE for it, but society made it unnecessarily difficult for females to learn about or engage in engineering. Assuming that someone with technical skills is male, intentionally or not, reinforces the idea that only men are, or should be, engineers.
Thanks Cybersox! I really didn't think it was one person making all that stuff!
As a sort of add-on to that, for PA's, possibly content as well, just based on what we're conditioned to expect for male/female interests. (And I admit, when I see some of that skimpwear, I think a dude HAD to have designed it because 1. it would be hideously uncomfortable, and 2. the physics of fabric and the femme form don't work like that outside of anime. But that doesn't mean I'm right.)
Ironically (or not) it seems some of the female vendors have made and continue to make some of the sexiest, skimpiest skimpwear in the marketplace. Perhaps more of it is made by men, though. A lot of it looks like it would be uncomfortable and impractical. That doesn't seem to stop people from buying it.
Right, except the odds are that the company as a whole isn't responsible for all of each individual product, especially when you take into account that there are probably accountants and other busness-related types in the company who have nothing to do with any of the artistic aspects. So, when I'm using "their" I'm refering to the handful of actual creative talents who worked on each individual item. (And yes, that's a bit in opposition to the way that the credit-fest in the motion picture industry has become, where film closing credits are now overflowing with listings of not just every executive and banker who happens to be employed by the distributor, down through all of the accountants, lawyers, and union representatives, and ultimately wrapping with the individual names of the honeywagon drivers who move the trucks that transport the portable toilets, the "craft service" staff who put out candybars out for the crew on the snack table, and even children of the staff that happened to be born during the production.)
I'm a very practical, comfort-over-style kind of gal, so... clearly not the target market. Probably a good thing I enthusiasticly intend to remain unpartnered for the rest of my life.
Polish is also a brokerage, I did look at their site once but Google is being less helpful this time
they sell game assets
Am I the only one kind of annoyed that the %-off banners cover so much real estate on the pics for the debut new releases?
That's not surprising at all. If you look at the people who do cosplay at conventions, it's alway seems to be the ladies who are skirting the edges of what they can get away with. Not that I'm complaining, but I've seen more than one young woman at a convention who was ultimately sent back to their hotel room to change by either con or hotel staff, including one who was literally only wearing a loosely wrapped towell and a wig, another in a costume composed of thin, transparent balloon "tentacles" wrapped in strategic areas, and quite a few wearing nothing but bodypaint...
Just a side note a number of years ago a survey showed that women controlled most of the porn industry
Getting back on the topic of sales, I like FeSoul's hair products, but it's a shame todays key item is a Gen9 only, almost certainly no purchase for me as i'm avoiding gen9.
That particular hair doesn't interest me. Even so, most hair is actually figure independent - You can load the hair and parent it to the head of the desired character. Then adjust its position, size and pose as needed. That's what I usually do - Any hair on any figure.
And yes, I have fitted some G9 hair to other figures. It works as expected.
I see. I'll keep that in mind.
Makes sense to me.
I've never really been part of that scene. Now I feel like I missed out.
Some of this is getting a bit political, so please let the sub-topic drop out.
No worries. All participants have been careful not to touch that aspect of the conversation. I know I have
Hmph, restocked my store credit a few days ago when then maximum gift card discount was 19%. Now for the last couple of days a maximum gift card discount of 24% has been available. Wish I had waited a couple of days.
You can always get another giftcard. ;)
Budget permitting...
I just bought $100 a few hours before the 19% discount started ,and after previous sales, I can no longer afford gift cards.
I have only joined DAZ for two months and I have no idea about the sales situation.I must have wasted a lot of money.
I know the feeling... I have the same thoughts about my first few months at this. But then I figure... it's a learning curve, really, and if I hadn't bought some of that stuff at less-than-ideal prices, I wouldn't have had the base things I needed to start playing. So I chalk it up to inexperience and initial investment and am more strategic in my shopping going forward.
I'd love to say, "Pfffft, budgets are for the weak!", but I can't...
@joanna Me too
Budget what's a budget?
I wonder. Does this bundle actually include the environment, which as a standalone product is no longer available at the store? The environment is the only piece I'm really interested from the bundle.
That thing I blew through in the first weeks of the PA sale. ;)

On a very appreciative note, I want to say I'm grateful that each golden ticket is not only a 30% discount, but it also lasts for 3 days. This allows me to skip days when there's nothing of interest to me without being penalized for it. In comparison, in the last year's Christmas sale, you had to buy for 3 days straight to get to 30% and then keep spending daily to maintain the discount.
And the Golden Tickets are all great too. Not all interest me, but I can see great value in every single one of them. Thank you, PAs!
Yes, the environment is part of the bundle. I've got the bundle.
i bought it, but it appears the environment is no longer listed in the products? It does not show in the promo page, just the poses and outfit, but it says its there in the description.
We have asked about this, though it is unlikely to get a reply before tomorrow.
