Cannot pose my figures

I'm not sure what changed or what I may have inadvertently clicked, but I'm no longer able to pose my figures. I can apply a premade pose, but when I click on any body part to make adjustments, the whole character is selected. Any advice on what I did wrong and how to correct it? Thanks!

    Go to Tool Settings pane, check if Node Selection Mode is set to "Node".
