G9 makeup not loading on some G9 Characters

So we all know the makeup products that come out with each new Daz Original Character... they come in the form of scripts.

And for the most part they can be used to good effect on all Daz Original Characters including many non Daz Original Charcters... however it's not always the case, for example they don't work on any of the Mousso Characters i have and i just bought one from nerdworks where it doesn't work either.

When you try to load the script nothing happens at all like the clicks are not even being registered...

Anyone know how to get them to work?

G9's makeup scripts can only work on the characters with PBRSkin shader on Head skin surface. Most of chars from mousso are still with Iray Uber shader as default, so the scripts don't work on them. You have to convert Uber to PBRSkin shader beforehand.

    Is that even possible?

Sure ~ just apply PBKSkin shader to the surface, tweak the property value on the surface till you get the good preview.

  • ok... where would i find this?

Go to Surface panes, select "Skin" template first. (ss1)

Click Presets tab, select Shaders and filter by "PBRSkin", dbl-click to apply it (ss2)

Then go back to Editor tab to tweak the properties... that does requires necessary knowledge of PBRSkin shader...

  • Thank you for that... the conversion was straight forward enough but like you say, further knowledge would be required.

just looking at other PBRskin shader settings on other models it was simple enough to get some kind of result...

Thank You Crosswind for your assistance.

Yep, it turns out to be a piece of cake as long as you give it a couple of tries. That's good ~
