Propeller blur

Hi,

There are lots of plane models with propellers. I don't seems to be able to have them fly with propeller blur. Is there a way to do this or does it need an additional prop to replace the propeller when rendering the plane actually flying?

Here's a picture using a blur prop I downloaded from another site. It was a re-make for a different product. Not the best match as I had to double the size to match the planes propeller and the nose cone can't be hidden so it looks dodgy.

Iray doesn't support motion blur out of the box in DS. Here are a few products that can be of help:

(for the record, 3DL supports motion blur)

Another option: you don't have to make it in 3D render... instead make it in an image editor with motion blur (GIMP, Affinity, PS...) You may get much better result.

Thanks Leana, I have looked several times at those two products. I am not really happy with the results. You can never have "the best of both worlds" use iray and give up options, use 3DL and also give up options.

Thanks crosswind. I have cs photoshop, old verson prior to the subscriptions ones. I usually only use it to modify textures and I'm not very good at it.

Darkedge Designs planes and such all come with seperate prop blur props. I've loaded those in seperataly and then positioned and parented to a plane that doesn't have the blur prop. I've also bought several helicopters and done the same with them. Also, depending on how the prop blades are mapped, I've had some luck by just dialing the cutout opacity down quite a bit so the blades don't appear solid. I've never been any good with photoshop so this has been my workaround.

I bought Motion Blur for Iray a few days ago.  I can follow the instructions provided in the documentation but once I have a rendered motion blur image, what do I do with it to get a rendered scene in Daz Studio with the motion blur?  Or does that have to be done in postwork, and if so, how?  Neither the documentation nor the YouTube video covers what to do once you’re  done with Motion Blur for Iray.  Thanks in advance.
