How do I save material files under the Pose section in Poser?

edited September 2012 in Poser Discussion

Hi,
I'm creating a product that I went into the material room, and under materials saved 20+ variations in the texture by changing the diffusion color and using 3 different texture maps. But I can't figure out how in the heck to save the variations as Mat files under the pose section, making them easier to apply then finding them in the materials.

Can anyone tell me how to do this? I did try copy/pasting the material files, but they don't show up in poses, so I'm guessing it must involve saving a different type of file.

Thanks.

Just realized I've been a member over 6 years, and this is my first post. I do lurk.

You can't do this with poser out of the box, though the current versions of Poser do give access to the Materials library in all rooms rather than forcing you to go to the Material Room. There are Python scripts to save mat poses, but it's really simple to just edit an MC6 into a PZ2 - I covered the method in the old DS FAQ thread, which you should be able to reach from the new thread linked below.

I couldn't find the info under your thread, but searching google under changing MC6 to PZ2.
I found a step by step tutorial I'm going to try out. :)

It is hard when you are not even sure what to search under, and your phrase gave me the right tools to find what I needed. Thanks for the help!
