Orestes Fantasy Moon - how to make the moon bigger

I bought this just now:

https://www.daz3d.com/orestes-iray-hdri-skydomes--fantasy-moon

You see how the moon is GIANT in the promo images? Like, takes up half the screen?

How do I make it do that? I've loaded all five of the HDRIs that came with it and none of them are even close to as big as they are in the promos.

I'm pretty sure I'm doing it right: I go to the Environment tab in the upper right, type: backdrop, browse, then Mydaz3d Library > Runtime > Textures > Orestes > hdri skies fantasymoon.

Thank you!

It's all about the camera settings. Frame width, focal length, focal distance... Play around with them to see their influence. There are many discussions about camera settings and photography in general and how it applies in Daz Studio.

There're two HDRIs with large moon and three HDRIs with much smaller moon in the product, you can directly use the former.

Besides, even if you use the former, you also can switch Dome Mode to Finite Sphere or Box, tweak the properties of Dome Scale, Dome Radius as well as Dome Orientation a bit in Render Settings pane ~~

Edit : Sorry, ha, I misunderstood... you want a giant moon. If 1st screenshot with default setting is still not giant enough, increase Focal Length of the current camera... and adjust the figure's transforms as well as the composition a bit.

  • Yeah, see, none of my moons look like that. The biggest one looks like attached.

Though I do think that I have something wonky in the camera settings, because when I switch from 16:9 aspect ratio to 5:4 the background squishes.

You should've loaded hdri into Render Settings - Environment Map rather than Environment pane - Backdrop...
  • Ohhhh.

Yeah, that did the trick. Thank you!
