DS keeps running out of GPU memory, was fine previously.

This has only been a problem for about the last month. Not sure if it could be an issue with the latest nVidia Drivers?
I keep running out of GPU memory and getting the black screen. Naturally I have CPU fallback turned off. Scene Optimizer helps a little bit. 
I can render a scene with two G8 characters, but then rendering again will often fail. If I close DS and re-open it, I can render again until the problem starts again.
It's acting like a memory leak or bloat with each successful render making the next less likely to be accomplished. I have to close and start DS every few renders. 
I've done thousands of renders over the years, not sure what is going on. Scenes that used to render fine are now extremely slow to render or won't render at all. 
This seemed to start around the time I tried installing the NVidia App and tried their overclocking feature. 
I turned this off and uninstalled after it didn't seem to be helping. Has anyone else had this issue?
