Laptop & e-gpu: vram question

I have a laptop with an intel i9 cpu, a 3080 gpu and 32 Gb of ram that is working fine with DAZ except for one problem, the 3080 only has 8 Gb of vram and that is severely limiting what I am able to do. I would like to add a 3090 or 4090 e-gpu to solve my problem (both have 24 Gb of vram). I’m trying to be sure that Daz will let me use the 24 Gb of vram on the external box and not force me to the common level of 8 Gb on the internal gpu. Most of my scenes easily exceed the  approximately 6 Gb on the 3080 and I have been forced into layering to solve it.
