Texture

Hello All,

 

I was hoping someone could share their expertise. I am not a computer guy and I have only recently tried to make clothing. In the example of the Irvin jacket I made, the melton collar and trim look too straight.

 

Do I have to model irregularities, like curly hair, or is there a way to texture it so it appears non-uniform?

    Maps, texture and normal/bump, can fake things looked at more-or-less flat on, but they can't change the profile - for that you would need to model, or add enought mesh in thata rea to use displacement, or perhaps have a couple of fringe layers as flat planes and use an opacity map to break them up. You could also use Strand based hair, with a lot of clumping for that effect.

    Thank you. Your suggestions are a lot of help. The soften, displacement and pinch brushes did the trick!
