Holsters for my Barracuda handgun
Yes, I finally got it done :)
I made one when I made the gun, but it was so ugly and poorly done I thought it was best to trash it. Now, after a few requests, I decided to start from scratch and here it is - or actually they are:
- Props (pp2 & obj):
* Holster right side
* Holster left side
* Holster right side, gun holstered
* Holster left side, gun holstered
DS materials (dsa) included.
The pack includes textures and DS mat preset (ds) for Barracuda too (because this addon doesn't require the previous SF Weapons pack), but they haven't changed, so no need to overwrite if you have the gun already.
It's simple and isn't pretty still, but gets the job done ;)
Now, a sort of an announcement:
I lost my job recently as our owner decided to shut down nearly all the functions in Finland, so I've made a decision to start to make this for living (among other stuff). Therefore it'll take some time before I'm able to make freebies again...

SWEET! Thank you Porsimo!!!
Thank you very much for this. I use your weapons quite a bit and I'm glad to have something to put them in at last.
Sorry to hear about you loosing your position, but downsizing seems to the today's world curse. I've been through it several times myself. But, on the brighter side, congratulations on turning "pro". Here's wishing you the very best of luck and looking forward eagerly to your upcoming productions. Best wishes!
You're welcome! :)
Thank you very much!
The sad part is that the company (both the factory and the sales company will be closed) had rather long roots (70+ years) and a strong brand (which will too probably die out), but the craziest thing is that the production is now moved from a profitable factory to an unprofitable factory... :roll:
To me losing my job isn't that bad thing (other than financially) because I like creating stuff more than solving problems (I was an IT specialist for 11+ years and before that I worked for 11+ years in production in the same factory).
Thank you Porsimo, and good luck with your new venture. :)
Good luck; speaking as an another Finn whose IT jobs have gotten axed (although in different companies), I know the pain. For the record, I'm also trying to figure out how to make this 3D into a career.
Thanks for the holster, it is cool.
You're welcome and thank you! At least now I have plenty of what I was lacking before: Time. :)
Maybe you can be a full time PA?
Yup, that's the plan :)
always liked the stuff you made, hope things are looking up for you
This is a great set. I just wish it came with a proper gun belt to attach the holsters to (left handed, right handed, and for two weapons)
Thank you! :)
Well, you never know. ;) I did *eventually* come up with the holster, so I may make a belt too some day. I just have to learn to make clothing first.
First models I ever made in Hexagon (or any other 3D modelling program for that mater) were a set of clothes.
Yeah, it's not the modelling but rigging which worries me. I haven't rigged any "organic" stuff which is what I need to learn - especially when it comes to gen 4 figures and their morphs. For Genesis I could probably get something done quicker...
For Genesis I could get it done quicker and it would be a good learning project. The problem is, I use 4.5 and have only one computer, so I can only make a duf version.
Can't make any promises about the schedule, though :(
