Anyone have this?  It's has triangulation at the crotch... Now I know you're all going to tell me to simulate but to me it's starting flawed.and there's still a hangover from it after...

Do you think a support ticket may get it fixed or do you think it will be 9 months of wait before also being told to simulate?  I've not seen this on other towels on the store other than ones converted to different generations.

I couldn't reproduce this issue on both G8F Base and G9 Base. Did you auto-fitted it to the figure or your character has a unique body shape ?

Ah.. thanks for the quick reply.

I do what I always do, just double click the wearable from smart content wheile having the figure selected.

It happens to me on 2 computers both 4.22

G8 Base is fine for me too..... but...... Should I do something special to this that I don't normally do to other clothing?

A solution, with a 45 frames timeline (could be shorter maybe, but I prefer to take my time)

    • at 0, start with the base shape (so base Genesis 8 Female for a G8F character, and Base Genesis 9 for a Genesis 9 one) and the base pose of the figure you're using, this way, no deformation should be visible
    • at 15, add a key, and dial the shape of the character you want to use (and every other morphs needed to get it to look like you want), keeping the base pose.
    • at 30, add the pose you want to have.

There is nothing to do at 45, the last 15 frames are here to let clothes stabilise once the transition to the pose is over.

Just check that you have the following states:

    • Frame 0: base shape, base pose
    • Frame 15: final shape, base pose
    • Frame 30: final shape, final pose
    • Frame 45 should be the same as frame 30 and you should not have to add a key at Frame 45

Once the simulation ends, you should have the towel drapped as you want, without the flaw you're seiing right now.

I think @Sickleyield has a product for fixing this kind of triangle mess, but I don't have it and don't remember its name (and to date, the couple of time I used the method I just explained, everything was fine once the simulation ended).

Odd ~ Well, you may try:  press F2 in DS, Clear DSON Cache Files. Then reload a G8F Base figure, load towel on it, see if it works.

Thanks for the simulation suggestion but I don't simulate in Daz.

It works on the shapes supported (Vic 8 and 9 too but it's a handful of supported shapes) but obviously the auto fit breaks it.

I can think of a few ways to get round it but there's no real point I'll just return it.

Again, did you auto fitted it on the character? Auto-fitting behaves differently from direct loading with the same preferred base.

As I've said I don't explicitly autofit it.  I double click it from smart content

It works fine for me on Base G8, G9 V8 and V9.  Have you tried it on a G8 or G9 custom character? I would expect it to work better than it does?

Here you can see how I load it by double clicking on the icon highlighted in my image on V9 and a custom figure

Right ~ so your character's body shape is the culprit. Generally speaking, vendors are not able to provided fixed FULL BODY MORPH (FBM) for each character product. It's a very commonly-seen "issue" rather than a real problem of this towel product. V9 is a popular official character, so normally vendors provide fixed FBM for it on the wearables ~~ That's why the towel on V9 looks good.

I use another character Lady Goo, you can see the same distortion there (screenshot 1), which means Lady Goo's FBM on the towel needs to be fixed.

A couple of simple ways for fixing it :

    1) increase value in Smoothing Interations (screenshot 2); (you can further export the smoothed mesh to OBJ, and import it to update FBM on the towel)

    2) fix in external applications (e.g. Blender ), then import the fixed OBJ to update FBM on the towel. (screenshot 3)

Thank you for all your testing :)  I was a bit worried it was a rogue morph somewhere.

I think the list of shapes that don't trigger the triangulation is a little bit small, personally.

Even Minerva9 gives some slight issues.  The only time I have seen this problem when crossing generations.

    to me it's faulty ;)

But actually it is not faulty... If you load every knee-length garment you have to that character, I bet 95%+ of them will bring you such "triangulate issue"...
