Ghost Light not working

I recently used the Ghost Light Kit 1. Didn't work at all. Playing with the Environment Mode (I changed it to 'Scene Only') didn't help. Maxing out the IGLK of the Ghost Lights in my scene didn't help either. Why, and how do I make the thing work? (I use version 4.20.0.2 of DAZ Studio.) Noticed that the original Ghost Light promotion page had disappeared and now an apparently brand-new Ghost Light Kit 1 has taken its place. Does that mean the product has been updated in some way so I must use this newer version for it to work, and if so does that mean I must pay for it all over again? Any help here will be appreciated. Thanks.

Iray was updated in Daz Studio, and Iray (Nvidia) had changed the way objects worked with oppacity, so the original ghost light didn't work any longer.

Therefore there was made a new version.

Yes, the behaviour that the original Ghost Lights relied on was a bug, fixed in the version of iray released in the 4.21..x.x cycle. A new, deliberate, method of doing the same thing was added (see https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/609556/creating-a-ghost-light-daz-studio-4-21-1-26 ) but that does mean the older versions will no longer work as intended. You could update the beta and see how you get on with it, then update your General Release if it is OK - assuming that your hardware does not limit you to an older version of DS.

There was a change in the way Iray handles emissive surfaces in DS 4.20, which made the older versions of ghost lights not work as they did before (basically they relied on what Nvidia considered a bug, and that bug was fixed).
So the PA released a new version of the ghost lights for DS 4.20+

Check this thread for a script which helps with using "older" ghost lights in 4.20+ https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/548061/iray-ghost-light-fix-dse-for-daz-studio-4-20-o-later/p1

    Thanks for the help, everyone.

Think I'll just buy the new Ghost Light. (Which IMO should be made free for those who already bought the earlier version...)

Or you can ask a refund for the old version since it doesn't work anymore then buy the new version.

Dunno if I can do that, but no harm asking, I suppose!
