Install of unowned product?

Daz Studio 4.23 won't let me install some products via Daz Connect and returns the messages 'Invalid ownership reason structure for product ...' and 'Install of unowned product ...' in the log. Some products can at least be installed via DIM, others cannot.
What is the reason for this and is there a workaround?

Every product I am aware of can be installed with DIM, except the Premiere leases, which can only be installed with Connect.
Can you give an example of such product you can't install, and do you actually have it in your product library?
One example is 'Carina HD for Robyn 8' (64859).

Ok that's all kinds of weird. It should be in DIM, though it might be hidden or filtered. Just to check, if you go to your account details on this site and check the product library, does it show in there?
OK :-) . Thanks for the tip. Normally I switched 'Display Hidden' on ... don't know, why it was switched off. So I can install it via DIM. Nevertheless, does anyone have an idea why it doesn't work via Daz Connect?
I'm also seeing "unowned product" errors.
I did a bunch of installations of recently purchased products this morning with no problem - then I upgraded to the new DAZ Studio 4.23, and tried to use DAZ Connect to install one of the products that was added as part of the new lesson product batch (Worker Uniform Outfit for Genesis 9) and it fails installation. I then uninstalled it. Also tried to install one that I bought a long time ago (City Bus Stop) and that failed as well. I tried to install Worker Uniform Outfit again. It seems like it creates an entry for the product but than fails to install any of the actual files. Tried a couple of times.

Both "Worker Uniform Outfit for Genesis 9" and "City Bus Stop" appear in my Product Library on DAZ site. Both also appear in DIM 1.4.1.69 as Products that are Ready to Download.
Don't know if that's the case here, but installing something with both DIM and Connect can cause issues, particularly with products that have Poser files.
Try uninstalling with both DIM and Connect, and then reinstall as you regularly would. You should only use one way or the other to install products. Now with the new subscriptions you do need to use Connect on the occasion, but if you regularly use DIM to install your product, only install with DIM to avoid possible conflicts, and only use Connect on the products that require it with the Premier subscription.
I'm glad I only use manual install and avoid all this gibberish ..
The fact that some of my products are hidden is a relic from the early days of Daz Connect. I used to differentiate between what I was not allowed to install with DIM. However, the problem (unowned product) also occurs with products that I have definitely never installed and never returned.
Did this happen when the whole store was broken a day or two ago? We couldn't log in to DIM or see the store products. Maybe Daz Studio couldn't log in and so couldn't match your computer to an account. Then Daz Connect uninstalled the product. Once the store was fixed. Your DIM login worked and the products were found. This is hypothesis. If is truth, it is another bad Daz Connect design and implementation.
There is hardley any product, I've purchased, that I did not customized. So all this hard work would be lost, as soon as I'd unsubscribe from premier?
The onyl content you would use would be the premier Exclusive content, which has to be isntalled through Connect and cannot have its file locations customised anyway (links and categories can be used, though).
Not sure what's happening in my case. I am still unable to install my owned products (but not locally installed) with DAZ Connect but was able to successfully use DIM to download and install the same products. As I said I had no problem with this yesterday morning doing a batch of DAZ Connect installs on newly purchased products but when I upgraded to the new DAZ Studio verison (4.23.0.1) it stopped working. Any thoughts or should I just go ahead and write a ticket on this?
Did the content you installed through DIM get added to the database? DIM can install through plain file operations, even if PostgreSQL is unavailable or not updating entires, but Connect is absolutelu dependent on PostgreSQL.
I just fired my DAZ Studio up and did a quick process list check and the PostgreSQL instances seem to be running. The log file reports connnection to CMS
2024-10-21 22:12:44.917 [INFO] :: Connected to CMS: PostgreSQL 9.3.4, compiled by Visual C++ build 1600, 64-bit
What other things should I be checking to verify the state of the db?
Does the content in the Conent Library>Daz Studio Formats have any tags (Actor, Material, and so on at top-right)? Are the Categories and Products lists there and expandable?
Seems to display tags and expand... See attached for examples.
OK, that looks as if the database is working - which eliminates my fund of briught ideas about what is causing the issue.
I added the bold below to @frank0314's comment for emphasis:
I.e. only use DIM or only use DAZ Connect. This is what I have been told before (perhaps implicitly) in email discussions with DAZ support about related issues. I gave up using DAZ Connct; I've never deliberately used it but apparently doing a "login" when Studio starts automatically ramps it up. I no longer "login" (is that a word?) to Studio, I do log in to DIM. It works that way and it works just fine (I believe). While lost+found is still very not-emtpy I haven't had the really confusing errors I had before when I logged (is that word?) in to both. I can also start Studio without hammering my internet connection; something that mattered a lot to me because it was only 10MBPS in the past.
You have the right words (logged in) and the right approach IMO - only use DIM.
Shyguy275 I have the exact same situation as you. However, my products are listed as needing an update. When I click to update it fails and gives the same reason as yours in the log. Product not owned. I've raised a ticket with DAZ to see what's up.
