I'm currently [blocked] with my pc because I have everything full amd, then the rendering is very slow, as you know the cpu in pc's like mine do all the work, the thing is that I'm about to upgrade my hardware but of course I don't have the money to upgrade everything at once and it's going to be like this for quite some time, currently I have an a10 7860k + rx 5070 8gb, the question is if I upgrade to an intel i5 12400f cpu will it improve the rendering time? or why do I keep the old cpu and upgrade to an nvdia gpu, but I don't know what type of gpu since my pc is weak I think it can handle up to an rtx 2060 or gtx 1660.

I know that in my laptop, the mobile GTX 1050 does graphics much faster than the Core I7. I would think upgrading the GPU with any nVidia GPU would be better than upgrading the CPU for this purpose.

Iray is NVidia's rendering engine, and it relies on technologies that are proprietary to NVidia. The most powerful CPU in the world won't boost your render speeds as much as an entry-level Nvidia GPU. You just want to make sure you've got enough VRAM. 8GB is the bare minimum, and arguably not enough these days, so shoot for at least 12.

edit: Octane is free for DS, and you can stretch your VRAM further with out-of-core rendering, but that literally will not work without an NVidia GPU.

You do seem to need an upgrade, specially for Daz with iray or any other nvidia base rendering.

Upgrading CPU (+mother/+ram) will help, but not much. GPU is the priority if you want iray rendering.

Alternatives? Staying in daz, filament instead of iray.

Alt2: Load assets in Daz, then export to other programs that works better with an AMD GPU.
