Daz Install Manager Can't See my Downloads

So, install manager shows all my downloaded assets as "ready to download." This creates a problem as my hard drive is full, so I can't uninstall anything to make more room since according to Install Manager nothing is there to Uninstall. However, I can use the assets to make scenes, so I know they are there.

I did contect tech support. The advice I got was that I needed to IM to the "correct path." However, I do not know the correct path nor how to find the correct path.

HELP!

Have you moved or deleted the manifest files?

It is the manifest files that tell DIM what is installed and where.

  • I didn't move the files. How I created the problem was I looked up "how to install files to a different drive" because my C drive was getting full and I wanted to start putting the DAZ stuff on another drive. I followed the instructions (I think) but that's when the problem began.

I then clicked  "reset default settings," but that still didn't work. I have tried to search around for different drives, but I can't seem to get back to where I'm supposed to be. It sounds like I need to try and figure out where the manifest drives are stored.

So you have previously used default settings?

If you look in DIM, what is the path to the manifest files?

  • Thanks so much for your help. This is the current path for the manifest files:

    C:/Daz 3D/Applications/Data/DAZ 3D/My DAZ 3D Library

You shouldn't be putting the manifests in the My Daz 3d Library folder. The ready to install tab is the oen that is populated by the (absence of) manifests, Ready to Download is populated by lack of the zip or (different) manifest .dsx file in the location set in the Downloads tab.

  • Hey, Richard-- thanks. I got that I have it wrong, but I am not understanding how to make it right.

Put the manifests in a dedicated folder, not part of a content directory (they are not used by Daz Studio at all).

In the Downloads tab make sure the location for the Downloads matches the folder that contains the zips (and is the one you want to use).

  • Thanks!
