DAZ Decimator - is it in DS4.23? or does it even work?

I see Decimator finally at a price point I can afford, but does it still work in DS 4.23? I read somewhere it was already in 4.23, or did I misinterpret?

It is included in the install footprint for DS as it is still part of the non-free version, but if your DS4 Pro doesn't unlock it then you still need to purchase a license to use it. Yes, it is always updated to run in the current DS4  version at the same time as the application and the other Daz-branded core plug-ins.

This plugin has to be recompiled each time when a new DS version is released, and yes it works with 4.23 but it's still a separate plugin product for which you have to buy, enter SN to enable it ~~

But pls be noted before you buy it:  the decimated figure can only be exported to to other file formats... It's not able to be either saved within the scene file or saved as any Preset.

thanks Richard. I don't see any reference in my DAZ 4.23 install, so I'll buy it. $4.25 in my cart right now. hopefully that pricing doesn't indicate something or just a lucky day.

Well, I ain't used it in a long time and it does work if you don't get crazy with the decimation levels being too low, but I can say it still gets updated and activated with check checkmark in DAZ 4.23.

thats really great to here. I've been looking for something like this, but never jumped on Decimator as it was always too expensive. I see its used a lot to enable easier posing, animation, etc, but I wouls assume it could be just as well used for low poly characters, in fact, the results look just like some of the lo pi and other lo rez characters in other products. I'm on it :)

I was shown how to use it way back with DAZ vehicles. If you cut the decimation low enough, but not too low, it distorted the vehicles and gave them a comical jalopy look to them.
