Can We Have This Stuff To Help Us Shop?

FauvistFauvist Posts: 2,095

There's THOUSANDS of products in the DAZ3D store now.  THOUSANDS.  And I, personally, have THOUSANDS of DAZ3D products I've been buying for YEARS, on multiple hard drives.

DAZ3D could help us shop.

We have a Wishlist.  Could we have a menu for SORTING our own wishlist into SUB-CATEGORIES?  Sub-categories that we define ourself?  Like, if you want all the products on your wishlist for a specific project, we could make a subheading in the wishlist, and add the products that go with that project.  LIKE A PLAYLIST, but for 3D content.  So if we personally are buying content for a project illustrating FAIRY TALES, we could make a category in our own wishlist with the title FAIRY TALES, and then add the products on our wishlist that we want included in that category.

Could we have a DATE STAMP for the date we added the product to our wishlist, that would appear on the wishlist itself?

We already have a list of which products we've purchased.  Could we SORT the list, like - CHARACTERS, CHARACTERS for G8FEMALE, LAND VEHICLES, INTERIORS, SHADERS, WOLVES, OLD WEST GENRE, etc.  Instead of scrolling through 5000 purchased items, we could just sort the list by what we're loooking for.

It would be infinitely helpful if, in the DAZ3D store, we had a filter for sorting all the products in the store limited to WHICH WE ALREADY OWN.  There's already filters for HIDE ITEMS OWNED, NEWEST FIRST, MOST EXPENSIVE, etc.  It would be very very helpful to actually SEE the product images of what we own, instead of just a list of the names of the products, since it's impossible to remember what each product name is actually for which product.

When there is a SPECIFIC SALE, and there are thousands of products in the sale, and to see the discount for any of the items in your WISHLIST that are included in the sale, you sometimes have to add a coupon code at checkout, otherwise your wishlist shows the original full price with no indication that you could buy it because it's included in a coupon sale.  When there is a coupon sale, I've just stopped scrolling through the 3000 or 7900 products on the sale list - because I don't have the time because sometimes it takes hours, and because it's a really boring chore to have to do it.  It's absolutely not worth the time and effort just to possibly, at the end of it, save $10.  If it could be indicated RIGHT ON OUR OWN WISHLIST that an item is included in a coupon sale, I'd buy a ton more products.

I'm sort of assuming that there are software, or programming, or AI methods of doing this stuff for us to shop faster and smarter.

I can't answer all the ideas you put forward but this one (filter for already owned) is available if you subscribe to Daz Deals Pro. This link should take you to their forum presence here at DAZ: Daz-Deals Pro

That looks helpful.  Thanks for pointing it out!  I'll check it out.  I'm sort of concerned that it was created 8 years ago though.

I am also desperate for better search/sorting/paging/something to deal with long lists of products in Studio itself. I find it faster to google for products and check on main store if I own them and what path they are instaled under because the existing search will never show them.

Daz deals add-on is definitely useful to shop. For example, the free version adds a direct link to the readme as well as links to threads and gallery images referencing that product on product pages, and enables you to add comments on wishlisted products and define categories in your wishlist with the "wishlist comments" feature (I used that to tag the migrated products I already bought at Rendo for example).

Daz deals pro also has "wishlist only" and "owned only" filters. There's also a "sort by % off" option.

Thank you @Leana for providing the newer thread. I thought I had it but you're right, it was the old one.

I would like those manually created sublists in the wishlist as well. Not DAZ-Deals but integrated directly into the website.

If you're using Windows there is this one: https://3dcontentmanagers.com/products/pm-daz/

For full functionality it requires that your products are installed with DIM (may also work with DAZ Central, not tested yet though).

Why did my post get removed, I seemed to have reference an evil post somehow?

I was only saying I wouldn't have thought it was too difficult to add some of the basics you are requesting.  The deals thingy subscription has more to it, using servers to track prices and notify when prices change.

It's something I've thought about looking into for myself...however I have little free time and am easily distracted... oooh look a baloon.
