DAZ 4.23. not installing
Hi all.
I had Daz 4.22 so i decided to uninstall. I then opened DIMS to install 4.23. It apparantly did as i can see it in teh "installed" tab but when i select to open it from DIMS then nothing happens. Navigating to C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4 reveals nothing was installed, even though DIMS says it was.
When I try to do similar in Daz Central it starts to download/install and then when i click "Open" nothing happens. Same thing really here. When i click on the info option it shows v4.20 for some reason. I can uninstall this which ive done multiple times, but still nothing is actually installed.
Where can I manually downlaod the latest version and install myself as both DIMS / Daz Central seems to not be able to install it.

If you right click on the item under the Installed tab and select show installed files does it show links or are they all greyed-out? If they are links then check to make sure that it has installed it into the location you are expecting.
As you can see there are files, but nothing opens. Doesn't appear to have installed anything in that folder.
Yeah, those should all be blue-underlined links to show that those files were installed. Check the two log files in DIM to see if there were any errors reported that may provide more info.
Possible culprits could be anti-virus or permission issues. So you could try uninstalling again, then removing the "C:/Program Files/DAZ 3D/DAZ Studio 4" folder (which should be empty after uninstalling) and then re-installing again? If you have a very aggressive anti-virus you could try pausing that - or atleast checking it's logs to see if it was stopping the install.
Make sue you are not running DIM as an administrator as I think that can cause issues.
Thank you for advice. I have 2 pc's. The one it installed fine no issue via DIMS. The other pc im typing this message with now, just refuses.
Both have same NOD32 antivirus on so that should not be the issue. Also i dont want to remove my "C:/Program Files/DAZ 3D/DAZ Studio 4" folder as I dont want to loose my DAZ settings.
Ahh, fair enough. If you feel comfortable enough (and you have the space) you could copy the DAZ Studio folder into a different, temporary location, and try the uninstall-delete-reinstall option. However, it would probably still be better to check the two logs in DIM to see what messages were recorded when the install failed to copy the files across.
Will do. Thx for your help.
