Carrara Challenge #22: “Wild, Wild West” : Winners announced :)
Carrara Challenge #22: “Wild, Wild West” Casting Votes
LINK TO WIP's: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/68508/carrara-challenge-22-wild-wild-west-wip-thread
Challenge theme was:
You just finished watching TV series "Hell On Wheels", "Longmire" , "Firefly" (My personal favorite), movie "Wild, Wild West", "Back To The Future: Part III", spaghetti western with Clint Eastwood or some old western movie from
50's with John Wayne and you got inspired, or, maybe, you simply admire prairie/desert landscapes and their serenity with wild horses running around, tumbleweeds rolling across and snakes and lizards
crawling all over the place ...
Your objective was to: Create scene which has Wild West painted all over it.
Basic rules were:
1. Each participant may submit up to 2(two) images into the Challenge.
2. Images must be new (previously unpublished).
3. Images must be primarily set up in Carrara.
4. Images must be rendered in Carrara or in an external renderer for which there is a Carrara plug-in (e.g. LuxRender, Octane).
5. At least one WIP (work in progress) image must be posted to the WIP thread (this can be as simple as the scene setup, a pre/post post-work comparison or just a final image with a brief description of
the process you used or as complex as modeling rooms shots, shader setups or partial scene setups or test renders).
6. At least one object in the scene has to be modeled in Carrara.
Dates to Remember:
Voting begins now: Tuesday, February 9 2016 (sorry for posting this late)
Voting ends: Sunday, February 14, 2016 23:59:59 CST (GMT-6)
Voting Rules:
1.Voting is open to anyone with a DAZ3D account.
2.Each person may vote for up to three entries. The order of your votes does not matter (i.e. do not vote for a 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, just list your three votes in any order).
3.Votes are per entry. If an artist has two images you wish to vote for, you may use a vote for each one, leaving you with one remaining vote to cast.
Anonymous Votes:
1.Anonymous votes will be accepted with good cause, for example: if a forum moderator or admin wishes to vote without giving an appearance of favoritism.
2.Please PM me if you think you need to vote anonymously.
Vote Counting:
1.An artist may place in the top three or receive Honorable Mention only once per Challenge.
2.If an artist has enough votes to place more than once, the entry with the most votes will be the one that is placed, and the entry by another artist with the next highest vote total will be moved up.
3.In the event of a tie, there will either be a 2 day extended voting period, and if there is still a tie, a neutral third party will be asked to cast a tie-breaking vote.
4.The current Challenge host (me) is not eligible to win.
Sponsor(s):
All the thanks again to DAZ 3D, our generous sponsor who is once again offering the following awards to the winners:
1st Place: $100.00 towards DAZ 3D owned item(s)
2nd Place: $50.00 towards DAZ 3D owned item(s)
3rd Place: $25.00 towards DAZ 3D owned item(s)
Honorable Mention: $10.00 towards DAZ 3D owned item(s)
Thaks ya all again for participating, and may the best render win
