Rigging toons from outside of daz?

Can you rig a character from outside daz to say g8f g8m / g9 parameters?

  • Is it the same shape, or at least the same proportions of body parts?

If you mean a standalone character you made in external application, then you want to rig it with G8 / G9 skeleton... better use some software like Faceform Wrap.... i.e. wrap it with a G8 / G9 OBJ, then import the wrapping result onto G8 / G9 in DS as morphs.

It's also possible to skip the wrapping and just rig the figure as is to G9's skeleton. You wouldn't have access to the morphs, but you could still apply poses and accessories.

  • That'd be perfect rigged as a g9. Bought some low poly characters that aren't rigged but I wanted to make and use some poses to speed up the work flow.

Ah yea... but how to easily rig a toon figure from outside to a G9's skeleton... without that "cumbersome workflow" we know?
