Please Don't Use Real Logos

https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-police-officer-uniform-for-genesis-9 I'm just about to purchase the new officer uniform, it's a great looking an REALISTIC looking, but I take one more look and... the shield on the hat and shoulder patches are real New York PD logos. The agency I work with will not allow me to submit images with logos. I can maybe Photoshop them out. Or maybe I can create AI versions Can we please not use actual and real logos and trademarks? You can't use them when creating images for commercial purposes.

  • Go into the texture and edit them to what you need?

I agree with you, but not everyone is skilled at editing neatly. And depending on the outfit, they may have to edit more than the base map.

I am one who would not be able to. If a scripter could find a way to take an 'object' which you need to adjust from either a real logo or from the PA's name or to match your story's needs, and allow you to insert your 'words/font/size' and then save for later use, I would buy it.

Or if there was a tutorial on how to do it in GIMP rather than a subscription software. And with little skills/knowledge in any software of that nature.

Or, y'know, you could use a decal in D|S to put over it.

Textures can be manipulated in GIMP. You find the texture map with the undesirable marking, open it in GIMP and paste over or paint in a new marking. Save As (new file name) - You don't want to overwrite your original map and you don't want a future product update to overwrite your changes - And good to go. Otherwise, you can also make the decal as suggested and apply as a LIE layer in DS. BTW, DS composites LIE layers with the base texture at render time. You can find the composited maps in the folder where you keep your DS temp files. The default location on Windows should be Documents/Daz3D/DazTmp. You can take the new composite and save it in your textures directory for the item and apply it as a map through the surfaces tab. It's pretty easy to do!

You can easily clone over it to get rid of them. I think a better option is to make the patches/.logo's optional and have 2 set-ups. One with and one without. Or make it a material of its own so you can turn it off.

This seems like the most merciful solution.

The second promo image shows it with a generic "Police" texture on the badges.
