Ashley 9

No love for Ashley 9? Let's focus the comments here instead of starting a dozen more discussions.

Yes, another pretty white girl, but maybe she's just my type (if I was 40 years younger). I rather like the bundles. Real clothes for real jobs. Finally a Pilot's uniform for all those private and commercial jets, even if it's just for the First Officer (Captains have 4 stripes). The hairs are rather conservative (updos are de rigeur for the type of jobs for those uniforms), but from the promos, Ashley can fit in anywhere with any cut she wants.

I like the clothes in the bundle too, but the character seems rather bland to me. Not something I need.

I don't think the pilot uniform is up to the standard of G9's facial realness. I'd likely only use it for a blurred background character if it was in my runtime.

I think she is really nicely done. A beautiful plain jane. I also like that there are practical work uniforms for 3 different professions.

That has been a running problem since that advent of iRay/PBR and then dForce further reduced realism. The hair, while mostly improved, still lags, but clothing? Forget any closeups as the clothing explodes the realism myth. One knows that the sort of effort to get realistic skin shaders now on offer hasn't been applied to create all the textiles' shader material sets needed for clothing and such. It seems like a colossal waste really: DAZ 3D and/or nVidia iRay should be supplying a massive library of tilable textile shader materials and some elements of skin materials that are tilable (not all of them are) as well. Maybe my complaint is unwarranted in some eyes, but the point of computer automation is increased accuracy and elimination of duplicated effort so there is that.

  • I like Ashley 9.  She looks like a younger Minerva 9-maybe her daughter?  Here's a render I did with them side by side.  Maybe I'm crazy but I see a resemblence.

I didn't realize they could be related! That's pretty cool. I'm really happy with the Ashley bundle. Yes, there's always room for improvement, but in the meantime, I'll have fun with this bundle.

Yeah!  Unsure if it was intentional or not.  I think the bundles are okay-pretty general overall and she has what I'd call a versatile look to go along with it.  I still want something fantastical in a celtic, mythical way.  Maybe next week.

Here are some quick test renders. Her textures are simalar other Gen9 orginals, and if I had to pick I'd go with the superior Joan. Julia might also give you a simalar feel, but Julia was a bit lighter.

Some nice details in the face texture. It keeps things pretty simple. (Big version attached)

    Next to Joan

Full body. Ok bends for this generation.

Using the base figures, no HD

Very nice renders! I think she acquits herself quite well, especially as you've used the base figures.

She looks fine... actually better than a lot of the other G9 female bases.  However, I suspect that the general apathy in talking about her is a direct reflection as to whether anyone really felt that there was a desperate need for yet another pretty caucasian female.

1st Caucasian 9 Core Figure skin sans eye bags/dark circles in the normals/diffuse, though a bit dry. Nice renders up there.
