what's wrong with save as scene subset
i just tried again to save the far right character in the group or four guys to his own save, so i have his charactrer alone saved, and...
i went through the llist, flying blind, and not knowing what to eliminate, thot i had them all check, and no light, but this is result. this cannot be right. If it is, how do i save a single character for reuse?????

Scene subsets won't set render or othere scene-wide settings. Beyond that, it is usually easier if everything is parented to the figure you wish to save or labelled to facilitate identification.
