RIP Lou Harper

https://www.daz3d.com/forums/profile/3199751/lou_harper

I didn't know Lou well, but we were both in the freelance book cover designer space. I always appreciated her comments and her knowledge, especially about DAZ. She'd combine DAZ with photo stock to create some really charming art for cozy mystery book covers.

The news was recently shared in the cover design community that Lou passed from pancreatic cancer on November 19th. I wanted to share that here, since I know she's been active on the forums.

She was nice to me. I thought her name was a pseudonym taken from the character Paul Newman played in the movies. Out of the parenthesis back into eternity.

I mostly remember her for her desire to create small town scenes, sometimes kitbashing sets to create the look she wanted

her idea of cropping down buildings such as those in the Aurelio sets to create a different look always stuck with me as an innovative one

sad to learn of her passing

  • Very hard to process, this. So sad.

My condolences to Lou's family. My mother died the same way, 6 weeks after diagnosis. Horrible, shocking and immensely difficult to cope with for all involved.

    Regards,

    Richard
