I didn't know Lou well, but we were both in the freelance book cover designer space. I always appreciated her comments and her knowledge, especially about DAZ. She'd combine DAZ with photo stock to create some really charming art for cozy mystery book covers.
The news was recently shared in the cover design community that Lou passed from pancreatic cancer on November 19th. I wanted to share that here, since I know she's been active on the forums.

Very sad news. RIP, and condolences to her family and friends.
I loved her charming avatar and will miss her posts.
She was nice to me. I thought her name was a pseudonym taken from the character Paul Newman played in the movies. Out of the parenthesis back into eternity.
So sad news. I remeber well her posts. Intersting to read.
Condolences to her family and everyone else who remember her.
I mostly remember her for her desire to create small town scenes, sometimes kitbashing sets to create the look she wanted
her idea of cropping down buildings such as those in the Aurelio sets to create a different look always stuck with me as an innovative one
sad to learn of her passing
She was nice! And she did have a distinctive avatar. Condolences to her friends and family. I'll miss seeing her here.
So Sorry to hear this, Her covers were great. I didn't know her but from her art she seemed like a good soul.

Very hard to process, this. So sad.
My condolences to Lou's family. My mother died the same way, 6 weeks after diagnosis. Horrible, shocking and immensely difficult to cope with for all involved.
Regards,
Richard
My heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.
Stumbled onto this from the store page of one of Sloshwerk's French Quarter products.
