Looking for a model of a string of game of some sort for a fantasy character that has been hunting.

Hi all!
I'm working on a scene, and I'd like to find something like a string of fish, or rabbits, or fowl, that my character could be carrying home from a hunt. I've done a lot of searching and looked through the props in tons of medieval, viking, and tavern scenes and I'm not coming up with exactly what I'm looking for.

To give an idea, something like this (models in Elder Scrolls Online), only properly realistic looking.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

AM has a lot of rabbits.

Couldn't you use one of them and attach a string?

    Something like this

  • That would work perfectly! Thank you for the proof of concept. I had considered it but I wasn't sure if I'd be able to do the right kind of pose or not!
Now I just have to cross my fingers and hope they come down into my price range while I need it! xD
    Thanks again. :)

Fish on a stick (could load several and parent them together): https://www.daz3d.com/old-japanese-soba-diner

Fish on a plate (would have to geometry editor out things that are not-fish, but could join above on stick for variety... really a nice looking fish): https://www.daz3d.com/food-dishes

Another dead fish, this one with twist/bend morphs, to add to stick: https://www.daz3d.com/fish-market-cart

...really for the amount of fishing gear and poses in the shop, you'd think there would be more actual *fish*... but maybe nobody's any good at it?

A free grilled fish (warning, it's carried by a woman wearing a bikini on the promo render):

Noggins has some rabbits/hares that are good for this: https://www.daz3d.com/noggins-rabbit-and-hare

It's an old poser product, but it has a dead, hanging rabbit pose.

You can see it used in this gallery image. Hanging on the wall beside the window.

If the items will be in the background, there are a few props over at Rendo that do fit the bill. However, these are very old models, would need shaders applied and would only work as background items.

    For "meat": https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/137050/medieval-small-village-butchery

    For fish: https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/129404/medieval-small-village-house1 or https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/111226/medieval-fishermans-hut

Also from sugatak, there's Old Japanese Town Edo Vol. 6, which looks to have a lot of fish models. Bit pricey if buying only for the fish, but maybe we'll see a storewide holiday sale soon.

  • Thanks everyone! I have some ideas now. :)

How I'm envisioning it, whatever she's hauling back will be slung over her shoulder, and the camera angle will be from the back, so the older assets probably won't work without some work (which I can do if I need, but... time), and it should be something uncooked and relatively intact (so like butchered meat or smoked fish aren't what I'm looking for, really, but the fish could work). It won't be the focus of the image but it will be foreground (It's a peaceful image of her and her girlfriend walking back to their cottage. She has the fish or rabbit or whatever that she's hunted over one shoulder, her girlfriend has a basket of foraged mushrooms and such on her hip, and they're holding hands and smiling at each other as the focus of the image)

I appreciate all the suggestions! If anything else that's good and relatively inexpensive comes to mind, let me know! Otherwise I think I have some good options to watch for now. Thank you!

Out of curiosity, is there anywhere for others to enjoy your work? I'd love to see how it turns out. :)

  • Aw! Thanks!

I haven't really caught up with posting lately, but I have a couple here in the gallery: https://www.daz3d.com/gallery/user/4573088844873728
    And more on deviantart. https://www.deviantart.com/shad0wdream

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping I get this one done by the end of the month for a contest, so hopefully it works out. I'm going to be watching sales like a hawk. xD
