Need Help With Buying Victoria 4 Skeleton & Muscle Maps As An Artist
Hello Daz3D Community! I'm fairly new to Daz3D, as I originally come from an artistic background and decided to use the program to help me with posing my characters. I am not familiar with the jargon or the culture of Daz3D, so please pardon whatever innaccuracies that I may state! I did my best researching what I could before writing this, but Daz3D and 3D modelling as a whole is very confusing to me.
I need help with figuring out the best course of action in buying some items that I like from the store. I am particularly interested in buying some anatomical models -- a Victoria 4 skeleton, a Victoria 4 muscle map, and a Victoria 4(?) model. All I need is a model whose body parts I can move around so that I can study human anatomy from different positions. I do not need textures, assets (hair, clothes), or anything else with this purchase.
The skeleton is called "Victoria 4 Skeleton" and is made by Daz Originals. The muscle maps is called "Victoria 4 Muscle Maps" and it is also made by Daz Originals.
The skeleton and muscle maps that I found said that they were only compatible with Poser, though. After testing a free Poser item within Daz3D studio, I found out that the Poser items can be used in the program. I do not know to what extent these Poser items will work, or how well they will work, but I'm hoping it means that the anatomical models will work when I buy them
The Victoria 4 models that I found are called "Victoria 4.2 Base" by Daz Originals and "Victoria 4 for Genesis 2" by MallenLane. I do not know which one of the two that I need to have my future skeleton and muscle maps to work with it. I read something on the forums that had a person experiencing difficulties with their Victoria 4 assets not working on their Victoria 4.2 model. Because of the technical jargon in that discussion, I could not understand what everybody was saying, so thus I do not know what to do for my specific case.
To whoever reads and answers this, thank you so much!!!

All the products you mentioned work in DS.
In the past products were optimised for Poser but as time went on DS grew and developed whereas Poser remained stagnant. But the majority of old Stuff does work in DS. The Victoria line was made by Daz and so is DS.
You need the following three products for your desired use: "Victoria 4.2 Base," "Victoria 4 Skeleton," and "Victoria 4 Muscle Maps." These can be used in Daz Studio without any problems. I actually use them in Daz Studio.
"Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female" is a product that allows you to use products made for Victoria 4 with Genesis 2, a different generation of figures. This is not a product you need for your intended use.
By the way, Victoria 4 is a fairly old generation of figures. The current latest generation is Genesis 9. It has more joints than Victoria 4 and can take more flexible poses. So, instead of the ones for Victoria 4, why don't you consider purchasing "Midnight Bones for Genesis 9" and "Feminine Muscle Maps for Genesis 9" for Genesis 9?
Thank you so much for your answers, Scorpio and CES3D!
Scorpio, thank you for telling me about those Poser items. I didn't even know that most of the Poser content worked on Daz3D, so I've always held off of buying some other things that I've wanted because of that restriction. But, now, I can get some more Poser items in the future!
CES3D, thank you for your clarification on the Victoria 4 models. Because of you explaining the differences between Victoria 4 and Genesis 9, I decided to buy the Genesis 9 products that you liste. I just started testing out the models and I am SO pleased with this purchase!
Thank you two so much for helping me with this. I've been hesitant about everything with Daz3D because of how intense the information can get sometimes. Please, please have a wonderful rest of your day, and have Merry Christmas to both of you!
You're welcome!
I'm glad you're happy with the results.
If you need it, there is also a male version, "Masculine Muscle Maps for Genesis 9".
