ok i meant render the file and then save the file after rendering in render library. and i don't want it to oversave a previous file, which is what it seems to be saying...
If you have done a rendering and close the scene, the next time you open the same file and render the way you want then in the window, change the name of the render file.
Let's see, you have done My Render then you want to do another one or modify it.
Save As from the File, save as Scene, Change to whatever name you want.
Then doing a new render, after it is done save to whatever name you want, just pay attention not to save over the file you did before, you got it?
Whenever you render to a new window, you can just change the render file name to whatever you want. I would have thought this was obvious?
If youre not rendering to new window, but instead rendering to file, then as Richard above said, you can set the name of the new render in Render Settings. Otherwise it should prompt you to give the file a name if you leave it blank?

when you "go to render" or when you "go to save your render after rendeirng"?
If you are rendering to a file, rather than to a new window, then the name is stored and isn't linked to the scene file name
