Issue with rigging when opening animation.

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with one of my Daz characters. Whenever I create an animation, and re-open the scene, the model's eyes pop out and the face moves forward slightly, as shown in the first image.

After some research, I figured if I adjust the rigging to shape, it solves the problem (as shown in the second image).

Alas, when I save and open the scene again, the first problem persists.

Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

  • As i understand it, adjust rigging to shape, isn't saved in DUF files(Scene, etc), it's only saved in DSF(morph, etc) files.

.The only way to get it to stick, would be to update the 'broken' asset(s) that's causing the problem.

This is done by running the command, then File>Save As>Support asset>Save Modified Assets...

I'd suggest checking the list of assets that are going to be modified, and see if you can correct the problem via the morph dials, before you commit to this update.

I say this, because if you don't konw what you're doing, you can break your genesis install, requiring a reinstall of assets.

You could also save a Scene Subset, a Character preset (if used to load a new figure) or (I think) one of the new Person presets (used to load a new figure, currently beta only) and use that to load the figure in future.

Note that if content was installed through DS saving modified assets won't help unless you then copy the modified .dsf files over the ones in the /data/cloud/1_[SKU] folder for the product.

I hope i'm misinterpreting here, but does that mean content installed through studio(connect) is creating two copies?

Or is it just a pathing issue?

  • Connect creates one copy, DIM creates one copy - but they are in diffrent places, and file operations in DS cannot touch the Connect files directly - and may well default to saving to a different place from DIM too.
