DAZ 4.5 - 3Delight plugin failure

edited December 1969 in Daz Studio Discussion

Just installed the new Daz Studio 4.5 on a freshly installed WinXP 32bit sp3. Working offline.

The two 3delight render plugins fail and when I click render, an error box appears and says - no render engine available.
The other render modes work, but with poor results.

Anyone know of a solution to this?
Thanks.

It seems to happen on XP 32 bit for some users, how much RAM you have could be the problem.

    Thanks for the info.

At the mo, 512MB. Just orded a couple 1gig sticks.

Only wanted to test the installation before I bugger up my main PC.

    Thanks.

I am surprised that you can get DS4P to run at all on only 512 MB? That is a tiny amount of RAM by today's standards.

My system has 8 GB, and it is pushing the limits some times on the 64 bit version.

Just fitted 2Gig and I still get:

Unable to render, No Render Engine Available - error message

    Guess its not the memory?

Yes I have installed it on an older PC of mine, Athlon single core 2Ghz, ATI 9800 All in Wonder, directX9c, but like I said I wanted to do a fresh test installation.

My main Pc isn't much more powerfull anyway, just a 2core 2Ghz, ATI HD5500. Guess I wont be purchasing any new stuff for Daz Studio 4.5 as its a dead end for me!

It could be your video card. After you have started DS, click on Help - Troubleshooting - View Log, and see what it says about your video card. Or you could attach the log.txt and I'll have a look (it doesn't contain any personal data).

Did you reinstall ds 4.5? You are giving up way too soon, DS should run OK on a 2GB system.

Have you looked in Help > About Installed Plugins, that will tell you is the plugin loaded, it is called '3Delight Renderer' in the plugins list and is near the top.

You have this: dzdelightrenderer.dll not loading for whatever reason (scripted rendere dll too, but it should follow from the first , I think?). I'd try redownloading after clearing cache and reinstalling.

When a DLL fails to load, in the About Installed Plugins usually says :

Reason: Library could not be loaded. File is not a valid DAZ Studio plug-in, or was made for a different version of DAZ Studio.

Did you 'buy' DS4.5 through the store, or did you go to the download from the Home page?

The main installer contains all of the correct plugins for the version that it is installing. It sounds as if you have the wrong version of the render plugins in your Plugins folder. Did you ever have DS4 installed before, and if so, did you allow the new installer to uninstall the old version?

I cannot figure out why this is happening, but there is something wrong with the two plugin DLLs. I can't see how it would be a corrupted download that just corrupted the two 3Delight plugins?

Can you look in Program Files > DAZ 3D > DAZStudio4 > Plugins, and see if the date for the dzdelightrenderer.dll is the same as the rest of the plugins in that folder?

XPost Dave - sorry - took me forever to type that

I've just re-download 4.5. I'll dig out an old drive and re-inst XP, update to sp3, before I just install 4.5 fresh.

I've previously installed older versions and during the installation of 4.5 it asks to uninstall the older version, which I did.

Ah well, all fun and games in PC land. wont BRB, think I'll rest my noddle for a bit.

    Thanks.
