3D lenticular print of 3D art
Did you know that your 3D scenes can be printed in full 3D on a flat medium?
Today's printing technology allows you to easily print posters from your 3D scenes in very high resolution and beautiful colors. One can even choose a variety of media; paper, canvas, glass, acrylic, metal, etc. However, one thing conventional printers cannot do: display the 3D character of your scene!
3D lenticiular print allows 3D artists to present their work in full 3D and full color as a print on a flat medium. The picture creates a stunning 3D effect and is viewed naturally without the need of any visual aids.
Rendering the scene for lenticular print is a relatively complex process, but it can be mastered in a few hours of learning. DAZ studio has all necessary tools explicitly available for this. There is a one-time investment in the learning process, but once mastered the process can be accomplished effortlessly.
I have prepared a detailed specification of the scene rendering process for 3D lenticular print. It is neither short nor easy, but give it a try! The results may be very rewarding.
I am sure that the experts in this community will find tricks which can simplify the process and reduce the workload barrier. I myself have a few such tricks, which are not described in the rendering specification document because it is long enough as it is!
Once the scene is rendered according to the specification, it can be printed in any studio working with 3D lenticular print technology. Pop3DArt specializes in such service, which includes special processing of the artwork before printing to improve the visual experience.
A lenticular render of the scene shown in the attached picture is shown as an animation in this link.
Anybody who tries this and has questions or comments is wellcome to post them here, contact me or post in the Pop3DArt posters forum.
