Missing Presets after Upgrade to DS4.5

Hi there,

I just upgraded to Daz Studio 4.5 Pro from 4.0, and I am now having problems with missing Presets from the Smart Content Tab?

As en example, I added the Jacket for Genesis from the Wardrobe, and then attempted to change the color using one of the provided presets for blue, but when I click on the option it now displays a small yellow triangle warning icon? I also get a a Resource Error dialog box that states:

"Could not open file: C:/Users/myuser/Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/MyLibrary/runtime/libraries/Pose/Magus/SampleRes/01-Jacket_DC.pz2 File does not exist."

I would really appreciate any help please?

I ran into the same problem. It's because of the new (.Duf) format, it doesn't recognize the (.dsa) as a preset. What I did was to open the presets as files "File - Open", then save as a Preset in the new format. I wasn't able to get all mine back either. Hope this helps.

You need to install the Genesis Bundle that comes with 4.5 as a separate download. The files are updated for 4.5. and you might need to check if your other Genesis files have been updated.

I beleive if you have both maigus jacket, they can load each of presets ( duf and old dsa files)
but when update to ds 4.5 the meta-data seems mixed about same basic contents
when you did not uninstall old basic contents.

I recommend when you update ds 4.5
check if there keeps "baisic contents files for ds 4.0.3" in your contents folda.
eg , magus jacket or, Jouneyer scott etc,,

before I think there is separate uninstaller for "daz basic contents"
they came with when you install ds 4.0.3.

so you need uninstall the "basic contents" too.

then install Genesis Starter Essncials again.
(that contain magus jacket for ds 4.5 and duf materia files)

and you may need stop and run cms or reload meta-data.

I believe if people want to version up to 4.5
a third parts of them may get some complicated cotents problem.

so I hoped

daz must need clear information how to up-date ds 4 to 4.5
for old version user. by easy clear step PDF tutorial.
(what need to uninstall, what need to install, and how treat CMS, when
new ds 4.5 insalled, without no problem about old contents.
)

but it seems too late. so some guy tried t to correct by themeselves,
then install and uninstall again ,tweak CMS, they kill many times.

that is perfect unhappy things.:blank:

Thank you all for your responses. I finished up reinstalling everything Studio, and the Genesis free content. I agree that a guide for upgrading would be great!
