Showing character's veins?

Within the Tank Top and Undershirt collection image, the man has prominent veins. How was this achieved, and where can I get the correct image to create veins?

    Some of the texture/character packages have vein maps with them...,many of Jepes's characters have them and odnajdy, over at Renderosity, also has a number of sets with them.

    This one for M4 has them...

    The nice thing is, once you have a set, since they are displacement maps, you can manually add them to other 'skins'.
