Walking in space. His hair is from Daz. All else were made in Blender.
Very nice work.
A new spaceship design. Made in Blender.
Really love your ships and renders!
@Sura_TC, I love your work.
Made a quick scene of my oldest ship model and the latest.
I think I need to work on a new space station. I've modelled two but they are old and I probably can best it by a lot now.
A new spaceship designed, named "Blackfly".
It's actually a small ship, about 40 meters in length.
These ships are very cool. I like them a lot. I often wonder why one artist's models look more angular like these and someone like Herminio Nieves's ships looks more roundish. I simply wonder: Is it about the artist, the modeling software, or both? Do you have any insight on this you'd care to share @sura_tc? Ultimately, I'd love to be making spaceships, too. I'm wondering where to start, what tool might be best, or if that even matters.
@Wanderer, I'd say it's down to individual's style than anything else.
Smoothly curved ships don't fit in my vision of warships, so I tend to avoid them. I do plan to model cruise (tuorist) space ships and those will be curved ones. To my knowledge, I've modelled only one curved ship and that's a small shuttle. (attached below)
All, no exceptions, of my ships began with a single cube in Blender. I just follow hazed images in my head to make it as close as possible.
Thank you! That was very informative. Your style is very cool. Hard to see how you get all that out of a cube, but I believe it. It's just hard for me to see it.
It's been a real pleasure looking through your work Sura. I'm quite new to Blender still and it has been really inspiring seeing what you have done with it.
The last time I finished a station was 2 years ago.
Close up shots are possible with this model.
This is Venus outpost, a small space station with about 1,000 crew capacity with a single cruiser-sized mooring dock. Smaller ships can enter the station directly.
That's awesome. The detail level is incredible. How much time do you usually spend on one model?
99% of time, I get stuck while modelling, usually at adding greeble phase, so it can take days to weeks. Stations take far longer due to its size.
Barring getting stuck, ships take about a week. Stations take weeks.
Again, amazing stuff, @sura_tc. Thank you for sharing once more.
It's been a while.
