"Renaissance" landscape
Most of the images I have been working on lately (using DAZ + Photoshop) follow a sort of Renaissance format of portrait or figure with a landscape background (like the Mona Lisa, for example). I usually just take the landscape from a Renaissance painting. This is quite limiting however - it seems I should be able to create something like this in DAZ Studio. (See a couple of examples I posted below.) The format includes toy-like hills, woods, roads and villages - fading away to the horizon.
I have seen (and purchased) several different types of terrain; also medieval village sets, tree sets, etc. But these do not work so well (for me at least) when I try to create small, distant villages, woods, etc etc. I would appreciate any suggestions from other DAZ users.

Here's another example.
They won't work because those renaissance landscapes are not perspectively correct. It is easier to see in your second image but they do not correct perspectivic depth, they compress uninteresting parts of the picture in favour of elements you are supposed to focus on, arrange elements in something like layers of flat planes to create depth and put architectural elements so they look good instead of lining up like they are supposed to.
I think the only why to achieve this type of image with Daz Studio is doing it with PS/GIMP etc too. Render each element and composit them in layers. You can do false perspective in any CG software just by scaling, I have done it many times.
How important is the perspective to you? Do you want to replicate those images exactly or create a background with similar items and images?
Would it be possible to retexture Dimension Theories recent urban set or one of the other sets to provide the background you seek?
Have you attempted to fit those images to one of the sets like the Millenium environment to create a more 3d type background?

Thank you, Pendraia, for your suggestion. I will check it out. My goal is not to replicate these paintings, of course, but to make something similar. I have been experimenting with something called Versatile Terrain - I would prefer a few more rolling hills etc however. I suppose I could also just start putting trees, bushes, medieval-style buildings here and there by hand. Before starting something so labour-intensive, however, I just thought I would see if anyone had ideas about a set I could start with that had rolling hills, low-poly trees and/or buildings, etc.
