Looking for help problem with smart conten

I had installed new content yesterday and did a scan for new content and it crashed DS. Ever since when I try to do a scan for new content the CMS stops. I have tried reinstalling different versions (earlier and later) I'm currently using the 4.5 RC.

I have also used a cleaner to clean temporary and registry files.

Any thoughts on how I can fix this?
