WOW, all of the entries this month are amazing! I'm sure the judges are not looking forward to picking winners, as I'm sure it will be a difficult task.
I know it has been said already, but this month really has flown by! I almost thought I wouldn't get my render done in time, but it looks like i finished it just in time.
It is titled "Nightmare in the Music Room"
...She slowly drifts into consciousness, realizing she must have fallen asleep after the music lesson ended. The sound of a strange, yet familiar melody can be heard playing on the harp. Is someone, or something, in the room? she tries to open her eyes, to call out, but finds that she can't move, her limbs are heavy. She feels pressure on her chest...
I was inspired by the nightmare paintings of Henry Fuseli and the concept for this render slowly developed from there. I wanted to give the room indoor and outdoor elements. I felt like this would create a sightly surreal environment, sort of a dream-scape drifting back into reality. Initially I had a lot of trouble with this scene and had to start over at one point, but I'm pleased with the final look and feel if the image. The lighting proved to be a bit more difficult than I had expected, I think I ended up using three distant lights and four point lights on various settings. I love the look of dynamic cloth, but i'm still learning how to effectively use it. I think the dress in this render is what gave me the most trouble! I actually ended up using two dresses, one on the female figure, and one positioned beneath her, draped on the chez lounge to give the illusion of a fuller, better draped skirt.
Overall I really like how the scene turned out. It isn't perfect, nor does it look the way I had envisioned, but I learned a lot in the process and feel like I have grown from the experience.
This turned out really nice. A very unique pose on the girl. Dleelaw already checked all the links, so you are good. (Thanks for the help Dleelaw!) Judges are suppose to do that...lol. One of their jobs as a judge. I am still one judge short this year. That does surprize me because the MMHB is usually a big event. Kinda low key this year, but WOW!...some really nice entries this time. Gonna be tough.
if you need a 3rd judge music I'll do it for you. Thought Kendall said he was going to if Alexa didn't enter and I don't see an entry in the mix from her. I'll give him a chance to speak up before you decide.
sorry to be gone for so long, had a very busy weekend. My mother-in-law turned 96 over the weekend and we had a big birthday party for her among the many thing I did last weekend.

I'm open to be a judge if requested. In fact, I intended to send in selections whether or nor I knew... just in case.
Oh, entries here are cut off now? Not midnight?
Nope - we're just overlapping the Challenges by a few hours, is all. The MMHB continues until midnight Daz time.
I like the big shiny spider and the singers face really screams. I can almost feel the ear piercing pain.
All links are good.
I do have a question about the lace for Fabricator. Do you need fabricator to use it, is fabricator free or paid item and will it work in DAZ.
This is just for my information and has no impact on your entry as you have by far enough freebies.

Well, I don't have Fabricator, so...
The texture shaders work fine in Daz 4 as is,
This is actually the first depiction of Ashley's band. I never had designs for the individual members until now. Stylisitically, Chrome, as I imagine them, is similar to bands like Heart, Vixen, modern bands like Valora and VersaEmerge, and singers such as Lita Ford, Pat Benatar, Stevie Nicks, and Avril Lavign.
ok...I got Kendall's picks, now I need Dleelaw's and Dollygirl's and then I can pick the winners. Remember you two, three winners and two honorable mentions. I'll be waiting.

:-)
I just sent my picks but I am seeing nothing in my sent folder.
Did you tick the box, to tell it to save a copy to your sent box ?
Why can't they make that checked by default? There are a lot of people who forget or don't even know about that thing!!! It seems such a simple thing to do.
Congratulations to everyone! What a tough month this must have been! An outstanding group of renders that seems to have brought out the best in everyone.
Something tells me that November's going to be a real corker too!

Dana
I think there might be some interest in this amongst the folks here... :)
The November Challenge is now underway!
Oh, entries here are cut off now? Not midnight?
November comes early this year. %-P
Well, if I don't get back here in time...
...good luck everybody! Tough decisions this month!
Dana
Well, it is a shorter month than average... :)
last hours of the competition for this month, good luck all that entered. some really awesome renders this month

Good luck to everyone.

Small update on my freebie list for my second entry. I forgot the drumsticks (added to original list).

I just sent my picks but I am seeing nothing in my sent folder.
Did you tick the box, to tell it to save a copy to your sent box ?
I did not tick it, did not know of it, did not see it, and in general did not pay attention.
Dang! Now that last part ticks me off.
But, if Music got the PM I really don't need a copy.
Thanks for the info.
It took me ages to find the tick box, and I had been playing with the beta site, so had no real excuses except lack of attention.
Sent my picks to Music. Good luck everyone.
Lonnie
