Always wanted a Land Rover, but as college student in early ‘80s couldn’t afford one.  Had to settle for an old 1970 Ford Bronco jeep.  Was sort of like the SWB model of a Rover.  Fun for driving around Big Bend National Park and places.

Anyway, saw a 3D Land Rover at DAZ & picked it up.  While playing with it, got the tune “Bungalow Bill” stuck in the brain.  Out comes the ‘white’ album on white vinyl no less.

“Hey Bungalow Bill!  What did ya kill?  Bungalow Bill!”

Then the thought struck me that a photo safari in 2018 might be a lot different that a hunting safari in 1968.

People don’t kill animals now, but photographers might be wise to stay with Kenyan game wardens or risk being shot at by the poachers...

A lot can change in 50 years. : 0 !  For one thing, I’d have been in kindergarten back then...

    Anyway, hope you enjoy!

I first heard this song right after my 17 birthday in 1968 and spent the first half of 69 singing it with my friends. I forgot the song ever existed until now. Very nice artwork Tynkere and well done on the camera over gun choice.

Thanks.   What started as me playing around with Rover turned into a long time posing all the figures.  In render can’t even see most of it.   D’oh!  Could’ve just had their legs clipping into vehicle...

As for song, yes 50 years ago-- gods.  20-30 y.o. “People in their 50s are old.”  Now that I’m pushing other side of my 50s...  “60 is nothing!   People in their 80s do stuff sky diving!  Saw it on the news.”

Tempus fugit, or you're as young as you feel I guess  :)

Ain't No Rest For the Wicked

Inspired by the song of the same name by Cage the Elephant

    https://youtu.be/HKtsdZs9LJo

I was walking down the street when out the corner of my eye
I saw a pretty little thing approaching me
She said, "I never seen a man, who looks so all alone
And could you use a little company?
If you can pay the right price, your evening will be nice
But you can go and send me on my way"
I said, "You're such a sweet young thing, why you do this to yourself?"
She looked at me and this is what she said

Oh there ain't no rest for the wicked
    Money don't grow on trees
I got bills to pay, I got mouths to feed
There ain't nothing in this world for free
Oh no, I can't slow down, I can't hold back
Though you know, I wish I could
Oh no there ain't no rest for the wicked
Until we close our eyes for good

A couple of good pieces of music and art to go with em. I like the square shapes but the lady looks familiar, like someone I wish I knew.
