Are you ready to set your scene on fire (on 3Delight & Iray)?
"Morphing flames" includes six carefully sculpted 3D fire and flame props, each with a wide variety of morphs. You can use several of the same type of flame props in a single scene and with the morphs make them all look different!
By default, all props load with Iray materials, but 3Delight material presets are included utilizing UberArea shader.
The set is out now: http://www.daz3d.com/morphing-flames

Ooo, I'm more than ready! Those look really good!
Wow, most excellent!
Nice! I like it!
loading it up now but won't have time to play with it until later tonight. Hopefully. Going to be a super busy two weeks but after that things should slow down just a bit.
Looks good! if the discounted price holds until after the 15th, I'll pick it up!
Bought and installed, haven't had a chance to try it yet. Thanks for supporting 3Delight as well as Iray -- that's a lot of work for effects like these.
yes its wonderful that it supports both as I use both. So it will be super useful for me
Thank you! It can be challenging sometimes to get the similar look for both Iray and 3Delight materials, but fortunately for these models it was actually pretty easy. I've used 3Delight as my main rendering engine since the beginning of my 3D hobby and I switched to mainly Iray around the last PA sale, so I'm going to support 3Delight as long as I can get satisfying results out of it
3DL has some advantages with this sort of thing. For one thing, there are some procedural flame textures or ubervolume you could apply.
I did a short test animation with these for a campfire, they are indeed awesome. Been looking for something like this for a while now.
That's very true. I think 3Dl is more capable with different kind of effects where Iray works best with "physical" objects.
Hey, that's great to know! I was wondering how these would work with animations as I don't do them my self. I was just keeping my fingers crossed
Yeah, I see a lot of potential. I'll post a link to a test vid once get it uploaded.
This is exactly what I was needing! Insta-buy!
I am shocked that I had not picked this up yet. I should try to change that soon as this is awesome.
That's really all we can ask for.
Here's 2 fire tests, they are actually just short 30 frame loops I made, 2nd one is at the 34 second mark. I still need to work on it.

Her is rune 7 and some flames
I have been looking for something like this set for a long time, but I would never have expected such an awesome fire effect in 3Delight. Thank you!!!
Cool video and image! Thank you both for sharing them! Those flames have been obviously put in good use
Thank you, and you're welcome!
A big, huge thank you for making this product! Still have to play around with it, but looks like just what I was needing. The props with a 'clean' circular base look like they could potentially be used to place on exhausts of jets and spaceships, to create the illusion of an afterburner activating.
Wondering if something siilar could be done with elongation morphs for flamethrowers...
Guessing that altering the material settings should allow for different varieties of coloured flame, too. Very useful for horror or fantasy-based requirements.
I'm glad to hear that! Yes, the idea behind that circular base was that it can be put inside and round shaped object, e.g. an oil barrel, fire pot, burner etc. ... Basically anything round.
I had to leave one prop out of this set because couldn't get the materials to work the way I would've wanted, so I may return this subject at some point
::sigh:: I don't know why I didn't notice this when it first came out. OK, I probably did but ignored it due to not buying anything at that time. But of course, as naturally happens, I now have a serious (for me) need for decent flames. But I do have a question.
Is it possible to change the color of the flames, like having mystical blue and purple instead of the more realistic flames?
Yes, you'll just need to change the emission color map to use the opacity map, and then change the color of the emission to whatever you want, see attached
ooh gorgeous! Now I will be able to make my ley line candles!
Thank you!
I need about 60 hours in the day to try out all my new goodies. Can't wait to try this out its been sitting in my runtime since it came out. Looks like so much fun and so much potential!
