The installers don't make available the DAZ Studio 4.5 Library locations anymore.

Hey,

I upgrade from DAZ Studio 4.5 Pro original release to the DAZ Studio 4.5 Pro beta to now the latest DAZ Studio 4.5 Pro release.

Something about the DAZ Studio 4.5 Pro beta has caused information to be lost that DAZ Product installers use to give the default install locations. So now rather than having a list of 2 or 3 locations I am presented with a Destination Directory with a blank line.

If this information in the registry or some other location?

Thanks.

Well the newest installers don't have that problem so since I fixed the missing DAZ library content problem by adding

    C:\Users\nonesuch00\Documents\Design\DAZ 3D\Studio\Studio3\content

to the list of Poser format library locations I don't need to do a reinstall of a lot of content anymore and so this isn't so important.

Maybe the installer was missing the default location because it was trying to install Poser format items in DAZ but I had not set that location? Makes sense don't it?

What are the items...they are probably old installers or templates, Carrara or Bryce compainion files. Those last 3 will give a blank installation path.....sometimes. :)

It surprised me because they I the Toon Generation Bundle files with I think original came out with DAZ Studio 3 (the installer has a ice blue eyed Victoria supermodel with her hair in a bun and a brunette should length hair Michael standing behind her). They are not that old.

works: 12346_2_dpc_ToonGenerationsDeveloperPack_2.exe (that is a default path is given, I seem to remember earlier through all the paths contained in the DAZ Content Library would be offered from a drop down list)

does not work: 12161_3_dpc_ToonGenerationsClothingPack1_3.exe (just a blank line that I can use the folder icon to browse to an install path or paste the path into)

wierd but as you said you can paste, type or browse to the path so no biggie really. :)
