I've been doing a lot of modelling lately and thought I'd share some renders. I've been very slow to get going with the modelling. I'm still not sure where I'm going with it, but I enjoy it. Working with the flow of polygons is very rewarding, all the more so when doing shiny renders. I started with Hexagon, which I loved a lot, but found it a little too crash-tastic. I now use LightWave and am very comfortable with it. When I decide to UV map stuff I use UV Layout, which was one of my best purchases ever.

My deviantArt has loads more stuff.

I've wanted to make a mask for sometime, but have not really had any ideas for one, so this was basically a model doodle I polished up.

I modelled the creepy stuffed bear severl months ago and decided I wanted to do some rigging practice.

The below gun is based on the Peacekeeper Pusle Pistol from Farscape. Ihave made if avilable free here http://www.digisprawl.com/blog/freebies/. It has no textures but is uv mapped and comes with a template.

Here I wanted to try out modelling an texturing a basic environment. Also first attempt with cloth simulation.

Nice!  Modelling is on my list of future things to learn...I look forward to seeing what you come up with next!

I kind of like the creepy bear.  Your last two images are really good.  Very nice lighting and posing.

That's an interesting creepy bear - wouldn't like to meet him wink.

    Your stuff looks great.

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback :)

Here's a new one. I started this gas mask months ago and always had trouble rigging it. Because I made it based on the V7 morph it turns out I needed to "reverse source shape from target". So after being up all night coming to grips with rigging more complex items I got a bit lazy when it came to render time.

I love the bear, one question though, is that wine or blood?

Good question. I had assumed it was wine, but now I'm not so sure. Maybe the bear is creepier than originally suspected. Thanks.

I'm liking the bear more and more lol.  The gas mask looks pretty amazing, glad you figured out your rigging issues!

Thanks. I've noticed there is still some weird mesh distortion, so looks like I'll need to work on some corection morphs.

Rigging basic apparel is so much easier. Any distortion created by autofit is easier to fix, or simply blends in. Again, everything created in Lightwave. The outfit could do with some work on the details, but I'm realatively happy for a first serious try. All apparel before this was very rudimentary and unrigged.

Thank you for the kind words. I've been considering putting the bear out as a freebie. I think it still neds a little work though.

I've just attempted to rig my first original character in DAZ Studio. It almost all went without a hitch. I was about to finish the basic weight maps when I noticed I had a single bone inexplicably out of its place. I'm not sure if it's because the figure is weight mapped, but I could not move the bone back to where it should be. All the bones had only limited control. Anyway, it's late and I need sleep, so this is a puzzle for another day.
