I have no idea how I missed this thread....This should be very interesting
I can see this is going to be a very interesting month!!!
I like atmosphere. We'll see if I can actually find time this month. Sigh. Time is the enemy and it always gets away from me! :)
I likely wont get to take part in the contest this month...
- But, just to clarify: In what sense is the term "atmosphere" used here - atmospheric effects or the general feel of the picture? (I'd guess the latter one, otherwise the golden-rule-links wouldn't quite fit... though on the other hand maybe they're a general tip)
Agreed ... due to some time-(not date-)related issues I just missed half of what I wanted to buy at the end of the weekend-sale.
Well then, I guess that leaves me a bit more room for eventual other sales this month...
It's about Atmospheric effects but also some other general tips were added.
This is interesting. It was the same topic in October last year and that was the first and only time I've won anything in this contest. Better put my thinking cap on to try and repeat that feat.
I remember! Good luck with that. There have been a lot of really good images in recent months. Competition is getting pretty stiff. I had a lot of fun with this theme last year. So many possibilities. It should be fun.
After the sales this last month, this is a great contest. I just picked up the Epic GodRays among other things. Just starting to play with it, but it is very cool.
Nice start.
Here's a couple of ideas that I've started to kick around for this. Hope I don't have the same problem that I had last month and end up having a lot more then this.
A great start. Her body position looks quite good but I am not sure about her hair. The movement doesn't look quite right.
Of the two images you have posted the 2nd image fits the theme better for me. It has great atmosphere.
Your 1st image has potential but I do not see any atmosphere. I am glad to see you using your Cheetah Girl.
I just bought Cararra in the past week during a sale. This is my first ever attempt to do anything with it. I used The Core and Badlands.
Not exactly sure what this will be the background for. I just thought it turned out pretty cool for a first attempt.
Oh..and does this count as "atmosphere"?
Wow, that came out nice. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
What are the odds that someone else is working on a "bent backwards" pose for this contest? LOL!
Sure does in my book.
This is beautiful! I can see a ship coming in to land on the far platform.
Here's an early idea. I plan on adding Above the Fog for some creepy effects, and an appearance of the Blind Demon... it is October after all.
I used Rim Lighting Rig behind the structure. Still need to play with the lighting some, and may bring it up a little - it's still a bit dark.
Here's idea #1 (Idea #2 is currently rendering):
Nice start on this one. I like the lighting from down the shaft.
Here's version b of this one. Cheetah's not a one cat army now. She's got backup.
How about a rim light on Cheetah's companion to make him stand out a little from the background, especially silhouetted as he is.
Last render for the night. Added the Blind Demon.
How about some flames a blazing?
I have never used Carrara but WOW...what a great start.
I agree. An excellent start.
The month has barely started and I can already tell the judges are going to have a hard time making their decisions.
I am really looking forward to seeing the rest of your additions.
That looks promising... is it just me but I see a tentacle coming out of that manhole in the next render....
Flames are an excellent choice. It also explains the source of the "smoke" in the air.
Flames gave it a better "life"
Carrara is great for sceneries like this, great job done here!
