A Holiday Greeting: Currently only a WIP... planning on modeling a different larger star and adding a few things.
Aaak! My snowman is back. Now he is in the Yultide Cottage scene by HowieFarkes which will be my Holiday Greetings "welcome pic" for my web site. I'm looking for and may end up modeling a scarf for the snowman... then might place a male Santa on the roof... perhaps I can find one of Vicky's Santa hats for him to wear. When I get it all done I'll update the render and add the Carrara scene setup. Oh... almost forgot... I modeled a new 8 pointed larger star in the sky to replace the simple 4 pointed one I wasn't that happy with... then added 2 lighting effects that Carrara has to make it shine a bit more. The smaller stars are from StarBright by Digital Carvers Guild... I might replace those with Starry Night by Dartanbeck.
agreed - MortemVetus rocks! I'll definitely post it once the event is out!! thanks again :D
Knittingmommy, I was wondering about duplicating what I've posted here. I only have also shown the first render I posted, in work and the final, in a few other threads here in the forums at DAZ and not entered in any other contests. I'd like to post the latest one also but do not want to do so until I'm sure it will be eligable. I will be adding my objects to my Modeling Objects in Carrara - Q&A - Come One and All which will be ok since I'll be showing the models and not the scene.
O Fill in or check this circle in if Yes :)
O Fill in or check this circle in if No :(
Saidge, Can't wait to see your render.
NAE
Awesome! Thanks so much :D Hopefully I will be able to put it up within the next few days!!
If I'm understanding the question correctly, I don't see why an image or parts of an image shown in wip type thread would disqualify an image. Most contests have wip threads and I'm okay with wips or parts of the image being shown in a thread like the modeling thread. As long as it fits with the theme of the contest, you can post your final image here even if it has been part of a WIP thread for another contest in the forum. So, I guess that would be Yes. Not sure how to circle or check yes in the above so I turned it red. :)
Thanks... I think. :) What I have done is to post the first image Meeting of the SnowMen: which I consider done and no longer in WIP here First and then... a bit later in it's no longer WIP form to a few other threads. If that disqualifies it it's no problem.... I've no dreams of winning anyway. The 2nd render is currently a WIP so I may post it elsewere. Once it is no longer a WIP will I be able to show it elsewhere here at DAZ?
No problem with posting elsewhere on the DAZ site. In the rules, it states that images can be posted elsewhere on the DAZ site after entry. It doesn't have to stay here after entry. So, you should be good. Currently, the images aren't supposed to be posted offsite for the duration of the contest.
Kewl... thanks.
I've updated my Holiday Greeting scene above. No big change yet... simply modeled a better, IMO, North or Christmas star and added another effect to it.
Click the image to view the large version.
Or just go to my earlier post... same diff.

Reminds me of Lindsey Buckingham
nonesuch00, I've just figured out from Wikipedia who is Lindsay Buckingham. I've never heard about him before.
He was a member of Fleetwood Mac but even when he was famous you pretty much had to read articles about Fleetwood Mac to know who he was. Nowadays with YouTube I don't know of any new musicians really getting famous anymore. I mean the only musicians I know of recently are random people I listened too on YouTube like George Ezra and Indiana the Girl. LOL, I've heard of the Jonas Brothers but that's because my neice liked them as a teenager, I've never actually heard them. I think they are Disney singers. They are old news now I suppose, they may as well be the Rolling Stones the way the mass media and music industry works.
You render does remind me of Mr Buckingham though, it's very good.
I've already checked out Youtube links and heard a bit Mr Buckingham. I like his manner and skills. Anyways, thank you very much for the comment.
NAE 2 Not My Son (don't you hate it when you realize you are working on test render layers and not the finished render?)
Ok, could someone quickly post the rundown on attachments? I know we are supposed to include one... but... what are the limitations on an attachment? File size, etc?
Entry # 2 Not My Son
Very nice, ED. Really do like this one.
Those are good
Thanks DM.
Thanks nonesuch.
@evilded777 I believe the size limit on the attachment is 2 MB. I'm not sure what any other limitations are. Just whatever limits are set by the forum. I just need an attachment for ease of getting everything together later. Hopefully, the attachment is set at a size that is reasonably easy to see for judging. There isn't really a set size that images should be. Your image size looks fine. You just need to attach the file. If it is bigger than 2 MB, try uploading a .jpg version of your image. I hope that helps.
I've found you need to save jpg at 90% not a higher quality otherwise you excede the file size limit in the forums. You can do a higher jpg quality percentage though in the Gallery.
Entry #1: Looking for Trouble
Changing my third entry to this: Entry #3 The Big Finish (nothing repurposed)
Entry 1 - Morning Dress
No re-purposed content.
Chanteur-de-Vent #2
Title: Greeting the sun
No repurposed items (The hair is Free Spirit Hair from G3F, but I believe hair doesn't count as repurposed, only clothing?)
Who knew one can do such things with Free Spirit Hair? Not me, but you don't hear me complaining. I have a thing for longhaired men.
I love how young he looks, very subtle. And the pose is also very well done.
Damn, those eyes...
