There isn't one - only in Sky (not Realistic Sky)

To use the Realistic Sky, you'd have to come up with your own way to make a rainbow, like a plane with a rainbow png, perhaps

Great work (love the original!). If I can make a suggestion, you need to do something with his right hand, maybe in a pocket like the original, but it looks kind of unposed to my eyes. Great lighting though!

  • VyusurVyusur Posts: 2,235

Thank you very much, Phil! I agree about the hand, but he has no pocket. But I will try to do something with it.

yes yes  For everyone... Great work Folks!

Ran into problems with the tree modeling so never got back to it... then eyes started bothering me after that so wish you all luck.  Instead I'm trying to finish a multi part mini-tut that I've been working on for a few weeks now since I can't look at text too long, can only work on it a bit at a time... need to get new prescription for eyeglasses, hopefully that will do the trick.  Perhaps I'll be ready to go next Challenge.

is there a way to exclude something from the render settings idl ambient occlusion?

    like transmapped hair?

    or leaves?

What I am seeing looks great.  Want to encourage more people to participate.  From me, here is a very quick toon space scene to host a short animation.

    .

Part 1 - gather assets and generate a solar system to put in the background channel

First, I threw together some toon space craft.

    .

I rendered a couple geometric logos for the opposing sides.  Used the rectangle layer tool to apply them to the respective craft.

    .

I then inserted some primitive spheres, applied spiky modifiers and glowing shaders, and replicated them on a giant vertex sphere (with deleted gaps).  These are the stars.  Turned visibility off for the giant vertex sphere.

I inserted more primitive spheres for the sun and a couple planets which I made bigger and closer to the center of the scene.

    .

Finally, I inserted a spherical camera and rendered a solar sytem with distant stars at twice width than height. (4000 x 2000).

This gave me the image to put in th background channel.

    .

@Mistara - If it is for a still, you might try to isolate your items with render passes. To do the equivelant for animation, I hope Dart or someone stops by and explains how to apply a series of render pass images as filters for an animation.  Bet it can be done.
