These are photos, not renders... but I thought I'd post them as they show my particular artistic temperament...

You got a good eye there Gedd nice photos.
Thank you Szark.. as an admirer of your work this is indeed a compliment :)
These were done from images taken at lake house, converted to HDR then digital paintings. The originals are actually much higher resolution.
To me, being an artist is a way of looking at the world. All of the tools used to express that are simply that... nothing more.
Cheers Gedd. I haven't taken any photos for ages. Here is a small selection of mine http://itiseyemeeszark.deviantart.com/gallery/33694930 not as good as your though and yes being an artist also changes how you look at the world, it did with me.
They are beautiful, and every bit as good as mine if not better. I notice a certain similarity in the images... great minds think alike aye .
(j/k ofc... just your average fool here ;)
Very nice Gedd, I am big fan of Macro photography , can't wait for the spring to go in the field with my cam
The bee shot was beautiful!! it is so hard to catch a good one with bee or other flying insects

Ty, yes.. spring will be a good time to get out... didn't have much this winter to shoot here. Other winters were better but I wasn't in the position to go out get anything then.
Love the images. They're great captures. The Caribbean silhouette, the meerkats? , and the last fireworks are particularly compelling as well as the nature ones, including the frog and lizard, ahhh heck, you've got a great eye, and excellent timing.
Thank you :)
.....
Gedd these are beautiful pictures!
They make me feel like I am right there with you. I can see you enjoy focusing on your subjects, rather than just taking a guess and clicking to be done with it.

My favorite by far is the zebra rolling over and creating the mini dust storm. I also like the multi-hued horizon and dock. Very nicely done Gedd! :)
If you can find a bottlebrush tree, photograph those red bristles up close- you'll have a masterpiece.

Thanks, the dock pictures were some of a series I was converting to digital paintings. The zebra, like the bee, was an exercise in how fast I could get a picture up and take it with proper settings before the image went away as it lasted only a minute or two (in the case of the zebra, a second in the case of the bee) and I was totally unprepared for the picture when it presented itself. I remember thinking at the time it was a bit like being in a western where I was in a gunfight. :)
I take all of my pictures on full manual, aperture priority, or shutter priority. In the case of a picture like the zebra, it's usually shutter priority as I don't have time for full manual (and it's not really necessary.)
