Carrara Challenge #34 - Enry Thread - Voting is Closed - Winners Announced
Carrara Challenge #34 - Sing to Me, Muse - ENTRY Thread - Winners Announced
.
Entries Accepted Through August 11th, 2017
The theme is "Sing to Me, Muse." The term muse has come to mean any source of inspiration for any creation, endeavor, or enterprise. For this challenge, please provide us with an example of your artistic muse for this image (not necessarily the muse for your life as a whole, but a muse for your particular image this month). For example, if you were to be inspired by Johnny Cash's song, Ring of Fire, please either copy and paste the lyrics or copy a link to a youtube video (or other) of him singing the song. If you were to be inspired to render very tasty Golden Corn Puffs, you could copy and paste the appropriate recipe from page 628 of the Joy of Cooking, You will have to indicate your muse for each image at least once in the WIP thread, and also with your final image in the entry thread.
The theme is quite open. Interpret it broadly. Whatever inspires you is OK - as long as you can find a way to indicate it without violating the forum TOS.

Muse: Diego Velázquez specifically his work Las Meninas
This work has been homaged by both Picasso and Goya. Dali did a version of the Infanta.
WIP https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/2705726/#Comment_2705726
and the whole piece https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/2725041/#Comment_2725041
The little girl Infanta Margarita Teresa is a K4 head on a V4 body. The others are all v4.
This is a detail of the whole. Made lots of use of VWD plugin for bits you cant't see!!
Postwork is an over paint in Corel Painter 2018, with pre post work done with Topaz Impressions, and post post work fine tuning in Oloneo HDR software.
Some texturing probably added in Fotosketcher. The overlay parameter is your friend. ;)
Edit sorry I just saw it's now 3 past 12 August 13th ... so I missed the deadline...
Entry #16
Title: Lost in the Woods
Artist: wgdjohn
Entry Type: PR
Did you have fun? - Yes
WIP: The scene setup.
What inspired this particular project?
My choosen muse was Taylor Swift's song "Out of the Woods"... which fits with my modeling... I often feel it's lost in the the woods. This project is no exception as I was frantically trying to fix an error I'd made to a primitive looking figure, the one that is red with one eye. He has yellow shoes with dark brown soles... they are burried in the leaves along with most of his legs... oh well absolutely no time to fix and re-render.
Products Used: Carrara 8.5 Pro, Howie Farkes - Stoney Creek "Beechdale Autum Fog", from a different point of view, to place my own models in... one of which was specifically modeled for this Carrara Challenge... the flashlight I'd planned on using for an earlier Challenge but decided not to... glad it found a home here in the woods. :)
