Lycan Hunter
This is without the side skirt, but with the bangles and boots.
I will repeat again- when you pose, turn from front and sides, and I usually go around back too. You should be able to turn your figure any directions and have no floaters. Look at Cassini's back, hand, where her feet are- and no matter how I turn her, she will be laying against the objects. It takes awhile, but you can have SO many different shots- it makes it worthwhile.
Will do one with the side skirt. (Tomorrow, it's 4am.)
Lycan Hunter
Well, I couldn't stand it so I stayed up until the render was done. Here's with the sides and back (cape-like) and the jewelry that comes with it.
This also comes with hand poses for weapons and standing and leaping through the air poses.
Freya
Coming Up: Well, since we just looked at Lycan Hunter, I found Freya- which I bought to kit bash (take the arm pieces, boots/leggings, or the front flappy thing to layer over another piece such as pants. ) But thought I'd render it so you can compare the outfit as a whole to Lycan Hunter. Not showing the back views. The shoulder pieces on this are really different (putting it mildly.) Again, it's a PC item.
http://www.daz3d.com/freya
Freya (V4, etc)
Okay, here's Freya. Remember, Cassini is V5 and this outfit isn't! So very effortless but not sure about every detail being correct.since it had to be fit to V5. Seems like there is some bad warping going on with that collar. Not going to work with it as I am not planning on using it. Again this is "out of the box" what you can expect from the Fit To.
EDIT- Am starting a render of the boots for you as I head off to snooze. See ya later today!
Freya (V4) on V5
Here's the closeup of the footwear. No problem at all fitting to V5.
Freya on V4 (My Giovana)
The shoulder armor is the "left collar" and "right collar" when you submenu it down, and they can be hidden. (Yippee!) The only XYZ translation option is to twist, so this (to me) looks awkward for any bent arm poses. It just leaves them jutting out. However, you can change the size- although collar up and down didn't do hardly anything on mine. You have character morphs, but I found most of those moved the pieces too close to the face (for my liking) and put it into the collar.
The photo shows it without tweaking.
But you do have options to make it different sizes and see where that borderline setting is- but be aware you can NOT Y translate these to lower them or just shrink them.
I also had a LOT of trouble getting those two buckle piece straps coming up from the breastplate to extend all the way up without sinking into the chest. I had to pretty much make her flat chested for it to work, and again, could not shift the individual pieces fiddling with it for over fifteen minutes. I did go in Parameters and used the submenus and broke items down, then went to Parameters and looked in Actor, Morphs, Misc. However, I may have missed something, but IMO, this isn't an easy piece to work with for beginners with custom characters- and mine isn't very far off the standard V4 body.
I want to emphasize if you have better experiences with these products, or there's something I am not finding, DO let me know. I'll post the revision with the product. Keep in mind this is MY experience, I consider myself a newbie, and that's another reason why I am testing all these clothes and seeing what problems / challenges I need to learn to fix. There is one thing I forgot a couple times, but caught myself-
TIP: Don't forget to go into the Scene tab and use those submenus (black arrows) to get specific morphs in Parameters!
Also- This V4.2 has no options for lacrimals so far as chaning their shape. I've looked in Parameters for the eyes (under head) Am I missing something?
Anyway, next post- see how I fixed the color of Giovana's lacrimals- I left them "as is" for these renders so you can compare.
Formula For Lacrimals
If you have glowing white lacrimals and want to experiment with color- here's Giovana's formula. I may increase the opacity, but this gives you a nice natural color. Not too pink, not too gray. I like it! Keep in mind these are really closeup too. CLICK TO ENLARGE and see what you think.
Go to Surfaces. Use the Surface Selection tool (in viewport looks like three black pieces of paper.) Have the lacrimals selected.
Diffuse is 82/82/82
Strength 88.4% Glossiness 50%
Specular 192 / 147 / 124
Strength 100%
Multiply Through Opacity ON
Ambient 0 /0 /0
80%
Opacity 47.1%
Bump Strength 4.2%
I then tested Opacity at 100%, but had to darken specular to 99/81/80. All other settings stayed the same. So this is another option for you if you like it. I think I like the first one better.

There's a thread talking about teeth color and a link to another thread- so let's get these related topics noted:
Human Surface (aka HSS) and UberSurface Advanced Shaders: By Jestmart
http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/7689/#103512
Bump Mapping By Totte
http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/21483/P120/#322837
Now, that first one came up due to a question about teeth- so I'm going to ZOOM in on Jassini's mouth and play, using only Surfaces with the basic Diffuse, Specular, Ambient. Should be fun. First let me say, I HATE Genesis teeth. There are products out there to make them uneven, more natural- I haven't used them yet. In the meantime, here's tips to remember:
TIPS: Change the parameters of the uneven teeth option to "-2" and that will give you a broader range to work with. And remember from earlier posts- consider shrinking the bottom teeth- they really interfere with the expressions a lot of the time!
The first photo is
Diffuse all 255
Strength: 100%
Glossiness: 70%
Specular 255 all
Strength: 60%
Multiply Specular- ON
Ambient Color 255 all
Ambient 20%
Opacity 100%
Bump Strength 15%
Neg 0
Positive .10
Photo 2: Next, just changed Specular to 210 / 210 / 241 which is a light, pale blue and that is too blue.
Photo 3: Went with a lighter white blue- 222 / 222 / 254, still too blue.
Photo 4: Final: 244 / 246 / 250 which is still white, just not that fake brilliant white!
Here's what the teeth look like from that last setting. Now glowing white, just a touch darker. Note the lighting is near dusk, so not a bright light. I am not focusing on the scenes, I'm doing products- so this will be lighter teeth than what it appears. EDIT: And I'm working on this gal, she puts the UGH in ugly!
Rendering now- but I have to leave by 9am in the morning (will get 6 hours sleep if I stop NOW) so I will post these products in a scene for you in the morning (if the render doesn't mess up while I'm sleeping.)
Going to do some products for you- please remember these scenes use the EXACT same lights as the portrait/clothing shots- I'm not doing this to create scenes, it's just to show the products. The lighting isn't horrid, it's just not what I do for scenes.
Want you to see these:
Surfer V4- Can't beat it for $1.99 and there are many options for the clothing and the surfboard! The beach ball is nice too!
http://www.daz3d.com/surfer-v4
And not shown, but good to use with Surfer V4, is the Beach Party Poses
http://www.daz3d.com/beach-party-poses
And for a fast and easy set the Corner Of The Garden
http://www.daz3d.com/corner-of-the-garden
It has THIRTEEN choices for the umbrella, the lattice fence, two choices for the brick paving, choices for the table and chairs, etc. It also has a preload so with one click, ta-dah. (I didn't use it.)
My impression on both of these products: Fast and easy to use, scale nicely- great for beginners and all levels if you need something for the beach or a fast patio setup. I didn't put any plants in front of the lattice, and if you put Pred one grass behind it with some bushes, it'll look really nice!
Render coming in a few hours.
BTW, thinking about all of you in Colorado near or in those fire locations. My first horse Sven was from Black Forest, there are MANY horses in that area, as well as northern Colorado Springs. I was an Army officer at Ft Carson- it's such a beautiful area, with wonderful local residents. We're all hoping for the best for you!
This is fantastic! Thanks SO much. I have been struggling with teeth. Your example looks great!
Glad to be of some help :) The settings were a mix of characters- as I admitted earlier, when I added a Jasmin pose, it whopped Jasmin herself onto my Cassini model, so I'm not sure whose teeth settings are whose, it may be a combo- then I just tweaked the glossy. In this post, you'll see those settings in action- her teeth are white but not, as I say, "Pepsodent bright!"
Here's the Corner of the Garden with the surfboard, etc- and she is wearing Amy Jeans, Amy Sneakers, Amy Bangles, Amy Hair, and Strappy Top. http://www.daz3d.com/toon-amy-for-genesis-accessories (or in the bundle) I have to say the Amy stuff fits Genesis so nicely- I've tried on a lot of different morphs and had very little pokethrough or adjustments to make!
I chose the surfboard with the flamingo since I am in Florida (grins) Again, note the teeth!
Title: "You Are NOT Leaving Without Me!!!"
TIP: Wrist Bend To Show Weight
Want to point out two things to newbies- note the WEIGHT of the surfboard is causing her wrist to flex- use the bend of the wrist! If something has weight, that little bend can add the extra nuance! Second, the other hand- I've seen a lot of poses where the fingers are curled when pointing- and that is what happens at the end of the pose- so to show action, experiment with a "halfway there" pose- to get the action going. It works well with actions that are well known, such as pointing.
And the second tip? Make a surfboard that is big enough for your character, lol. She'd have one heckuva time surfing out on THAT! I'm' not redoing it- but hopefully YOU spotted it before I pointed it out?
I'm going to preface the light tutorial I am about to share with a preamble that would be (in my opinion) good for you to read.
First, thank you for supporting my thread- I put a lot of work into it, but it's not really work when I'm having so much fun, and hopefully giving you some ideas. I want to share my perspective on a few things, but before I do, I want to share my background, which of course impacts my point of view.
I got a "C" in art in 7th grade. I like realistic, that teacher loved abstract. I did gorgeous abstract and got A's, but on optional assignments, I chose realistic and of course, wham, got C's. But I persisted in MY style.
And I never took another art class- ever. Fast forward and years later, I submitted to a national magazine and was their featured artist not only Halloween, but the prized Christmas issue! It was a magazine found in all the drugstores and Walmart, and bookstores- so I was delighted. I got offers from other magazines too! (THEY contacted ME.) Take that, 7th grade art teacher!
You'll notice I don't ask for critiques of my work. I know what I like. That said, I AM DOING THIS FOR FUN. When people point out true errors (say poke through, or a wrong sized surfboard- which no one did btw!- then that's a different story. And if they offer suggestions- I appreciate that they took the time and I would definitely take a look at changing something- or at least TRYING IT. Nothing to lose there, everything to gain if you expand your horizons and test your options.
And most of all, it doesn't mean by ANY stretch of the imagination that what I am doing can't be done BETTER. (If you think that about your work, you've stalled baby!) This is where I am at in my journey, I'll get better- but I'm trying to get those of you who are totally lost, or willing to experiment, to at least get to THIS level of lighting.
I am heading toward doing different lighting -all the uber stuff, so be prepared when I make THAT trip!
When I share tutorials, it's where I am at in expertise at the moment in 3D. I wouldn't share it if I didn't like it, or think that it was a learning experience that some of you can use. I'm seeing quite a few posts from newbies (who this thread is for, so far as tutorials and links to helpful posts) about lighting and in particular point lights. And saying they are lost.
Here's where I am going to walk on eggshells- but be honest. I'm seeing renders where the face is very, very dark. Remember that saying "The eyes are the mirror to the soul." Well, many of these folks I'm seeing are pretty souless! I'm talking about the straight on or slightly angled shot where the eyes are front in center of attention. Although the body can relay intense emotion, if you have the face as part of the main focus, I'd really like to wing in with a point light and show you what can be done with side lighting with point lights and spotlights- so you can see how it might add flavor to your render.
And if you don't like what I'm suggesting- good for you! If you are doing art for yourself, and you like it the way it is, skip all these posts that are coming. Simple enough :)
But before we begin, Szark has a GREAT example of eyes- http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/2765/P165/#350703 and Gedd followed up my lighting comment on Szark's thread (and if you haven't see it, start at the beginning and learn from a master!) so read the clarification when I was "duh" about the term "key." Well, not DUH, I thought it meant "main" like a key light was a main light- and Gedd went the extra mile to help out. (as usual.)
So, all that said-
You'll notice I've been gone for two days. I've been busy setting up a light set that will work for you in the dark, and in postwork- all you need to do is lighten, and yippee- it works as a great daylight set too. And it will show you that even in a VERY dark scene, those point lights and spotlights can STILL be very dim and you can STILL showcase the eyes. I'll be sharing the tongue and teeth settings so they don't distract in an open-mouth dark scene.
On a sad note- this scene is lost unless I reconstruct it- and I can due to the screenshots- because when I saved as a scene and renamed it, it is nowhere to be found. I've looked everywhere. I had not opened any other directories or changed anything, and I'm telling' ya, it did not save as a scene preset, character preset, lighting, nada. The only thing left to do was to tweak the color of the face, fix the hair and do an overall check- so no biggie- and I got you 99.99% of the way through. But how frustrating!!!! I've done this hundreds of times and never had something NOT save when using the save as function. (Lesson learned folks. I'm leaving my computer on Sleep till the VERY end. I had it sleeping for two days, saving (supposedly) then saved again at the end and exited. Thank goodness it was at the end.
So get ready to rumble with some point lights and spotlights- we'll use a minimum number and keep it simple- and look what you newbies can do! The dark render is the true render, the second is what you can do in Corel Photo Paint or another graphics program by ONLY lightening the scene!
The other sad thing- I was going to put her in Alien Cave so you'd have a background. Well, poof. But consider that set or another cliff as this character has lost someone over the edge. Or something is rising up from the ground and it isn't pleasant! This looked SO great from all angles- I even have a light shining on her back and you'll see you can do renders from behind like your characters are moving forward and getting that surprise ahead of them. :)
Just remember this is for the light setup and intensity- the colors you can tweak as I didn't get to finalize- for instance, that front hand palm is too red when you turn the scene around. You might want this all more blue, etc. Okay, this will take hours. If you want to participate, plop a character into a kneeling position and let's go- your Saturday (USA) night lighting venture!!!! You can pop in and comment any time you like- just remember, I can't change anything because I no longer have this. (rolls eyes)
EDIT: DAZ forums are messing up BIG TIME. My photos won't post correctly, no matter what order they are put in, and they are jumbling wildly out of order. I will replace all these posts with product reviews eventually and post the tutorial later, combining photos and doing one post at a time. I'm not going to have this ruined by a faulty forum program.
Summer Halter Dress
http://www.daz3d.com/summer-halter-dress
On Fast Grab now- Summer Halter Dress
By Xena, May 2011
Fast Grab Today, June 17th: Get this for $5.99 instead of $19.99
For:
V4 Elite Body Shapes
Stephanie 4 Elite Base
the Girl 4 Base
Aiko 4 Base
Victoria 4.2 Base
In the ReadMe- it stated it is found under Character, I found it under Figures.
Then the MATs are under Pose.
HMMMM, it would not drag onto the dress, the dress WAS selected in scene. Wouldn't double click.
So I right clicked and did MERGE INTO SCENE and it loaded. Nice trick.
Tip: Use Full Skirt Hip right off the bat if the bottom has poke through.
Tip: If you have side poke through, try the FBMS4 Grace under Stephanie 4
There are a LOT of morphs, and it was an easy fix for anything that poked through.
CLICK TO ENLARGE AND SEE THE TEXTURES. GORGEOUS!
More of Giovana wearing Summer Halter Dress. Love the textures and the colors! I posted this to show how you can do a slight "swing" to the bottom of the dress, and put her legs slightly apart to show how easy it is to show motion with this skirt. Love it- one of the easiest to work with that I've reviewed.
I give this a gold star. Easy to fit, nice swing morphs to move the fabric, very easy to use!
Garden Escape Well
http://www.daz3d.com/garden-escape-well
So let's do the other Fast Grab for today (June 17th)
Found in Poser Library>Props Okay, the ground loaded fast and easy. (Good for other scenes too)
Again- the ReadMe says Character, the main well is in Figures in the Content Library. Do NOT select scene if you have your character there- it will erase everything. I am just bringing in the well.
Clicked the well, it loaded easily. Went back to Props and loaded the ivy, it went right on the well, no problem.
Love this! Clicked the bucket, it went right to where it should be in the middle.
The Summer Halter Dress is relatively easy to work with in sitting poses, but I want you to notice the front of the dress winging up- if I had time to fiddle I'd be able to get that down. These are "quickie" reviews and not render-able scenes- just to get the feel of the products. I am impressed with the ability to swing the sides forward and up- getting the dress under her booty wasn't hard.
Sensibility For Victoria 4
DMs Courage Realm
http://www.daz3d.com/sensibility-for-victoria-4
http://www.daz3d.com/dms-courage-realm
Hmmm...that promo certainly doesn't do this justice. Frankly, this doesn't look like the same material to me, so someone check to see if I have the right product. It said Sensibility in DS, and none of these other links have this dress.
This dress material is very elegant IMO. It has a lot of morphs, I will have to say as a newbie I had trouble getting the bottom front to lay down when she was laying down- with a knee slightly bent. (SLIGHTLY) I know, I know, I set myself up for failure. But to do a review, I want to test poses. Let me say though, you can easily work around the slight "poof" at the end of the dress when laying down, simply with your camera angle.
And good heavens, the morphs. LOTS of morphs. The promo was right about that!
Some related products-

So Giovana took a trip to DM's Courage Realm- she's either in a food coma or just too lazy to get up. Just look at the lighting that comes with this set, the set textures (closeups- they are wonderful) and the dress. Don't pyschoanalyze my gal laying there. You'll see what I mean about the end of the dress- but as I said, one leg is slightly raised. I really like this dress.
Let me say this- Courage Realm is what I used for Kaetl and the two dragons, simply because you can really change the look of the temple using the Y translation. You can sink most of it into the ground, hiding those skull walls- and have temple columns. And my goodness, a LOT comes with this set. What you are seeing here is the vendor's lighting (and beware if you load the scene, your lights go POOF.)

tutorial removed, product review eventually.
I'm stopping until they get this nonsense fixed. I can't do a tutorial when I post images 15-20 in order and they appear as 18,16, 17, 19, and 15! You won't be able to follow me. So I'll type up the dialog tomorrow and then we'll see if it behaves. Good night!
To post images in order they must all have the same Name and Numbering order... Jaderail-001.png Jaderail-002.png and such, you then must post them one at a time in order Jaderail-001.png followed with Preview post then Jaderail-002.png and then Preview with all 5 images posted in the same single post. So that all five images have the same post TIME stamp. Also if you EDIT the text it is best to remove all the images and do them all again in the proper order (sometimes). Also Never post a Large number of images at the DAZ 3D server Up-Date time which depends on sever activity. It can happen from Midnight DAZ 3D time untill DAZ 3D 2am depending on traffic on the site nightly.
I'm sure somebody will tell me I'm wrong about this but I've done it that way many times in the last two months with no errors.
EDIT: The Numbering MUST be separated from the file name. Jade01 to Jade05 will not work. No idea why.
Was unable to get the photos to work- am lumping photos together as one. They will be smaller, so be sure to click and enlarge, then you can click again and they will enlarge AGAIN. The photos would not post in order, even when reversed, edited, you name it. So here we go-
Photo 1 (P1 from now on):
The first thing you need to know- that light bulb will be ON whether it is black (off) or not- if you have no other lights. It is the default light.
Since we have no other lights, my character is lit anyway. After I add the first light, you'll see I can turn the default light off or on- and it WILL go off. This is Maya with the earane costume I played around with earlier. I took off the back sash to keep this simple and just chose a pose from the car poses set. If you are doing this, just get a similar pose. Your bottom leg areas are going to disappear with this lighting set, only the top of the thighs will be seen. So don't worry about feet poses.
Photo 2 (P2 from now on, you get the gist):
That blue cube is not just for views- as I mentioned earlier, but bears repeating- If you are in Perspective view, it's a view. When you are in one of the LIGHTS, (say Spotlight 1) YOU ARE MOVING THE LIGHT!
But you are going to use the Perspective view to set up your light. Notice I am in the Lights And Cameras activity tab, and look at the blue cube- see where it says top? And the edges of the cube make the letter Y? I did that on purpose to make it easy for you to copy. In Perspective view, get your view of your character like this. Why? When we create the first light, there is an option to use the Perspective view! So your light will be shining from this view. Cool, eh? Makes it SO easy to place lights!
Go up to the left corner and Create>New Spotlight...and don't do anything until the next step.
Go up to the left corner and Create>New Spotlight...and don't do anything until the next step.
Photo 3
You have the choice of "Applying Active Viewport Transforms- Perspective View" so choose that. You can only have the transforms (XYZ coordinates along the axis) because you have nothing else to copy! We have no other lights with color or intensity, so how would you be able to copy anything? This view HAS coordinates (XYZ) so that's the only choice you get.
You'll see your choices change when we get to the second light, because we'll have light and intensity (other options) than just XYZ once we set up this light. You'll be able to replace a light, or copy it- with all it's settings! Really cool.
If I lost you, don't worry about it. Just know you'll only have the Perspective view transforms choice for your first light.
Photo 4:
Rename your spotlight. This is SO important when you start getting a lot of lights. I know this one will be from the top view, and it's to the right. I use RT for right, L or lft for left, Btm for bottom,Frt for front, etc. And using capital letters helps too.
Click Accept. You now have your first spotlight from that perspective view- and there will be a spotlight choice now in your menu for the views. (The one that says "Perspective View."
Photo 5:
Here is your spotlight, as seen from the Perspective view. It is shining EXACTLY where your Perspective view was- told you so!
Notice the light is still on OFF (the black light bulb) In the next set, I will turn it on, you will only see a slight change. But when we next turn it OFF, you will see it does now go OFF as we have a reliable light source. The Studio refuses to turn off the default light when there isn't any other lights- it says, "Look dummy, you don't have any other lights. I'm not going anywhere."
AFTER YOU CLICK TO ENLARGE, YOU CAN CLICK AGAIN TO MAKE THESE EVEN LARGER! You can move the separate pop-up window right next to these descriptions!
These photos are going to continue in number so they match the images in sequence. I will put a (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) which reference the first, second, third, etc for THIS post to keep it easy for you. If you have a question about anything, use the P number, like P6. That tells me it's the 6th image and I can quickly find it.
P6: (1) (1st photo)
Here's with the lightbulb ON- you are getting additional lighting on the top of the hair. Compare that with the next photo. It will be off.
P7: (2) (2nd photo)
Okay, default light is off, the top of the head light disappears. Go to the "Perspective View" menu dropdown and let's go to our new light!
P8: (3)
Now you ARE the spotlight. You are looking at your character- and if YOU MOVE, so does the light. I'll say again- if you are in the light view, when you move, the light moves. In Perspective view, it is just a view.
P9: (1)
We're moving in! This will bring your light closer to your character, so what happens? Yes, it will shine on a smaller area, but that area will be more intense with light.
Also note- in the Scene tab, the spotlight is selected. Anytime you want to do something with that light, such as change the intensity or color, the light must be selected. Your item will be highlighted in GOLD which is active/selected.
P10 (2)
Go back to Perspective view and see the wonderful lighting you just created- with ONE spotlight over the shoulder, top view! Ta dah.
CLICK TO ENLARGE. You lit all of this with just ONE spotlight- if you placed it where I showed you!
In summary:
The first 10 photos show you:
* how to use the Perspective view to setup your first light
* how the default light stays on until you have your first light
* how the viewport blue cube (keeping this simple) moves the light when you are in the LIGHT's view
* how zooming in when in the light's view will intensify the spotlight on the area, and narrow the beam of light
P11 (3)
Parameters>Light shows you the settings of our spotlight. It is white (255/255/255) and 100% intensity, but the angle is only 60% instead of 100% because remember- we zoomed in! (The smaller the angle, the smaller the area lit.)
Now, be sure you are in Perspective view, because we are going to use it again to set up our next light.
Turn your scene to match the blue cube that says "Right"- it is slightly off centered. We're going to do our first Point Light- NOT a spot light. I am deliberately mixing lights! Create>New Point Light.
P12 (1)
You are going to see different options now, other than our very first light. Why? Because now Studio knows it has the choice to copy Perspective view, or to copy the spotlight. Or even copy/replace the spotlight! But this is important- YOUR OPTIONS DEPEND ON WHAT YOU HAVE SELECTED OVER THERE IN THE SCENE TAB.
The reason you have the choice of copying/replacing that spot light is due to its selection over in Scene. This is important when you start having a lot of lights- make sure the one you want to copy, replace, copy/replace is selected. Other light options will NOT be shown if they are not selected. If you have Genesis selected for example, you will only get the Perspective view option. (I just tried it, I was curious as to whether even the last light would be an option. It's NOT.)
We're going to choose the Perspective view transforms option again- we want our Point Light to be the same as what we are seeing in the Perspective view, shining on the hand. Those of you who don't "get" Point Lights will see how easy this is!
P13 (2)
Here's your Point Light, shining on the hand! You are in Perspective View, so this is what the light actually looks like on the hand and hair. Again note in Parameters, your intensity and color. However, there is no Spread Angle on the Point Light, unlike a Spotlight.
P14 (3)
So how does this Point Light look when we back up in the Perspective view? Wow- you have a glowing orb out there, helping the spotlight with that side!
P15 (1)
Go back and look at P10 THE SPOTLIGHT ONLY- so you can see how that Point Light adds to the lighting, compared to Spotlight only. (This first image)
Look at her sleeve on the raised arm, and the added glow to her hair, side of face.
Click on the cog to change the color of the Point Light. (It must be selected in Scene.) I am going to show you the best way to see exactly what that light is doing- other than turning off all other lights of course! (close the eye next to the light, in the Scene tab.)
Change the color to a hot pink. You can click on the large rainbow area, and then pull the slider up and down to get different intensities, or type in a number if you happen to know hot pink.
P16 (2)
You can now easily see where that Point Light is casting light! It's down on the chest area too.
P17 (3)
In Parameters, go to Shadows and set it to Raytraced, and let's make this soft shadows with a 35.2% to start with. You can play around with this later.
P18 (1)
Translations- Z moves the light from front to back, Y is up and down, and X is side to side (put simply.) So we are going to use Z and move the light. This 4th image shows you the settings, Z is -41.60 and we are going to bring it FORWARD. You'll be able to see the glow decrease on her hand. I am leaving this light bright pink while I experiment.
P19 (2)
Changed the Z to -16.43 (forward of the hand) and you'll see the hand light is better- it's not so intense on the hand/thumb area, etc.

P20 (3)
With Point Light selected, go back to Parameters>Light and click the cog to change the color. I used 201-183-170 to start with. You might jot that down for a good pinkish flesh starting point. It's easy to lighten and keep a flesh-colored hue. All my point lights start with this or a light white-blue.
