Great photo Cathie well done on another claim to fame !
You are a very creative and generous person as all these posts have been a huge help, thanks again.
Hermana5- so good to hear from you! Hope you are having fun with your renders (Smiley face.) Am happy if there is something you can use.
TIP: Textures
I know folks are curious as to Cassini's face- wow, that took a lot of work, let me tell ya. ONE CLICK. That's right- just select Victoria 5's face in Scene, go to the millenium subdragon LE and chose the red one's materials, click and you have a kindred spirit. Ta-dah!
So go try that with other texture maps(hope that is the right term. I keep forgetting) and see what critter's texture maps you can do on faces. Can be fun! And if you do experiment, would love for you to post them here- I'd love to see them!
Here's the correct teeth / tongue which will be used in the upcoming render- and as shown in Cassini's last photo. Just another set of teeth for you to try.
TEETH:
For daylight, I would start testing with this set: this is the first pass at the teeth I am using-
Diffuse 190 / 200 /221 at 100%, Glossiness 70% Specular 0 / 17 / 34 at 87.7%, Multiply Specular is ON, Ambient 129 / 103 / 90 at 52.9%, Opacity Strength 100%, Bump is 15%, with negative at 0% and positive .10
For darker preference, I would start testing with this set: THIS IS WHAT IS SHOWN IN CASSINI'S LAST PHOTO.
Diffuse 161 / 169/ 186 at 100%, Glossiness 54.8% Specular 0 / 17 / 34 at 94.8%, Multiply Specular is ON, Ambient 129 / 103 / 90 at 52.9% Opacity Strength is 100%, Bump is 15%, with negative at 0% and positive .10
TONGUE:
Diffuse 112 / 103 / 97 at 100%, Glossiness 70% Specular 180 / 187 / 213 at 60%, Multiply Specular is ON, Ambient 80 /34 / 34 at 15% Opacity Strength is 100%, Bump is 25%, with negative at -.10% and positive .10
GO BACK AND COMPARE THE WHITENESS OF THE TEETH AND THE EYES (WHICH ARE NOT DULLED YET) Depending on the scene, you may not want to dull the eyes- but the mouth could be distracting.
Millennium Subdragon
Let's go ahead with the product review (which started this entire thing) and you can get a sneak peek at Cassini's power pose. The dragon is the recipient of her warning, so you can guess where he is (and based on what I've already told you.)
I have almost all if not all, the dragons. I went with the one I had loaded in the studio, and was quite pleased at how easy he is to pose. It's the Millennium Subdragon. It's the dragon that will be in my upcoming scene.
http://www.daz3d.com/millennium-subdragon
Not to be confused with:
http://www.daz3d.com/millennium-dragon-2-0
(which says: The Millennium Dragon 2.0 is a highly detailed model made of over 84,000 polygons and can be slow to load and pose on slower computer systems.
My little Mill Subdragon looks quite intimidating- except to Cassini of course. Now, on to the clothes that I am featuring. Cassini needs to be dressed comfortably to confront her beastie.
War Dog For Genesis
http://www.daz3d.com/wardog-for-genesis
Let me just say right off the bat- unless you're doing a military scene, ignore the weapons and the grenades, and all the military stuff- and you have a ready to rumble comfortable outfit. This loads like a dream, there was no poke through, and you could have just the vest without the shirt for a female and have a sexy but not revealing (depending on the angle) ensemble. The pants are long enough that you can use other boots (miltary are supplied) and when tested with movement, they did great! So movement, A+. The weapons supplied are quite nice, as are the grenades.
If you haven't found Luthbel yet, IMO this vendor is one of the best of the best for clothing.I bookmark all the clothes and snatch several up when on sale. I've already showcased Way Of The Shinobi http://www.daz3d.com/way-of-the-shinobi-for-genesis and also have
Highlander: Wildenlander For Genesis http://www.daz3d.com/highlander-wildenlander-for-genesis
Corsair For M5 And Genesis http://www.daz3d.com/corsair-for-m5-and-genesis
Okay, this render is taking forever (great, with everything turned off except Cassini, I can hardly wait for the entire scene to render once I'm done, groan) but let me say you're going to LOVE the War Dog outfit. It's for guys or gals, an added bonus! You can put the pants tucked in the boots like the military, or leave them out (Cassini.) I did not try tucking them, but there are a lot of morphs so I'm sure it's easy to do.
Here's a teaser screenshot for you, the render is still going. You can't get an idea of the great shirt texture from this though (but the closeup of Cassini previously shows it) You CAN see how well the teeth fit in without being a distraction.
You can see her power- Go Cassini! Will be back in a few with the first product render. Keep in mind I have not done the lighting for the scene and this is from the scene (with everything else "removed" by closing the eye in Scene)
e'l
EDIT: Here's the Millennium SubDragon- out of the box. In another post, we'll check out the options.
So this is War Dog For Genesis, top half of the outfit. Be sure to click and enlarge to see the textures.
And this is the pants and the boots. Again, really nice textures. I did not change the bump map at all, this is, as usual, "out of the box" as a product review.
Again, click to enlarge, then you can click again!
Dorpodon
http://www.daz3d.com/dorpodon
Rendering now, check back on this post for the image-
The dorpodon is a big dorp- couldn't resist- but shrinks to all sizes very nicely! I had no problem bending his neck- although he seems built like a little boulder, I have moved him. Granted, he won't get in ballerina poses for you...
Dorpodon (.cr2 and .obj)
Two Textures (4000x4000)
Bump (4000x4000)
Six Poses (.pz2)
P5/P6/DS compatible
I would definitely change the glossiness of the eye- go to Surfaces and remember that turning the glossy up does NOT make it glossier. Go to about 60 or 70% and also lower the diffuse by about 20. Start there then play with it.
DMR Ellas Quest.
http://www.daz3d.com/dmr-ellas-quest
Well, not only did the light tutorial scene not save, the dorpodon/ Cassini / dragon one just crashed. "Encounted a fatal error" to be specific. I had just added a red light for the eye, a filler point light for the underside of the wing, saved the scene, then did the dorpodon's eye blue and dark green to eliminate the glow- and bam. The scene is completely gone.
I had done a test render, changed and added some lights, and did another render- so we do have everything except I wasn't done. So 'cuse the dark dragon wing, and I had also shrunk the little fella so his back wasn't even with the stair top.
The set is DMR Ellas Quest. The props are nice- there are hanging lights, torches, pots, a bench, etc. Nice details- and there is also a ground plane in addition to this temple floor. You get your money's worth. I had just started trying to see if the grilled fence can be made to disappear, if it doesn't that would be the only thing I wouldn't like.
I didn't put any vegetation in the background, again, this started as a simple product review. Remember what we discussed about power? How many ways does Cassini show who is in charge? How does the environment/ props support that?
Well, where is she on the steps- is she on the top section, away from the dragon? No. She has come down the steps.
Next, her sword. How is it atypical? That glow tells you Cassini has a special, magical weapon.
And, as discussed, her posture speaks volumes. She is leaving herself open to attack, deliberately showing she has no fear and she reeks of confidence. Her feet are so that one can swiftly move forward and protect the baby dorpodon- she is in a fluid state, not locked in place.
Her head is slightly forward as she makes her threat, her body tells you she means what she says. So, in semi-done form (but enough to illustrate what I was trying to say) all those products in...
Title: "I Said NO."
Millennium Subdragon
Millennium Subdragon Textures
If you go with the Millennium SubDragon LE (if your computer doesn't want a lot of polygons!) Parts Of The Product description: (edited to cut out the sales pitch, just the basics-)
"Crafted with DAZ Studio's advanced subdivision technology in mind, this wondrous creature scales to meet your needs. Work in lower polygon resolution, while rendering in higher resolution, so you can have top quality output without sacrificing work speed! ...
...Over 12 head morphs ... Over thirty head and body morphs give you the most expressive, emotive dragon in the world of beasts. A fully posable mouth, eyes, mouth and tongue make creating a wide range of expressions a reality. The dragon's body has many styling morphs built-in, controlling size, spines, and many other body styles - ... The dragon's body and limbs are also fully posable, with a multi-segmented tail, to wings that can fold up and rest on his back...
...Two sets of high-resolution body textures are included... Five scaling poses let you control the size and shape of your dragon, so you can create baby hatchlings to gigantic mammoth dragons with ease. Twenty-six poses are also included, along with morph INJ and REM poses. Full support for Poser and DAZ Studio is included..."
Let's take a look at the poses for the Millennium Subdragon. There are a lot of options- here is the one with the mouth open so we can see the details. One pose struck me as funny, the dragon was upright and walking, looking like he should be carrying a briefcase.
Couldn't resist. Here's the briefcase one. Caption "Kids- those rooms better be clean by the time I get back from work.."
Second photo- Okay, the tongue looks like a rare steak, ready to cook. Plop that sucker on the grill! For this review, I'd say PASS on the open mouth poses that are closeups!
I do have to say there is an impressive array of poses available- pretty much whatever you want him to do, he's doing it. So this is a good, dragon with a lot of poses available and he's easy to manipulate on your own.
This dragon features the red texture set from the Subdragon Textures.
http://www.daz3d.com/subdragon-textures
and there is this too: http://www.daz3d.com/subdragon-textures-2
You can also get 15 different head morphs for the Millennium SubDragon:
http://www.daz3d.com/subdragon-expansion
And there are more products! So if you're wanting a dragon that vendors have created a variety of morphs, poses, texture sets, take a peek at this dragon!

DMR Ellas Quest
http://www.daz3d.com/dmr-ellas-quest
Need to give this a bit more attention as you didn't get to see much of it. First of all, the vendor has nicely parented items to hang where they should, or you can choose the plain kiosk without anything hanging. Nice! Look at the detail of the chains. As usual, this vendor pays attention to details. Check out all the DM"s- I have almost all the sets and will showcase most of them sooner or later.
You also have a nice ground plane (not needed for the temple setup) to use in other renders! For my Kaetl/dragon scene, I used one of the grounds. They are very versatile.
One thing I found- the bench comes in below the temple, so if you're looking for it, Y translate it up. It also seems oversized but you can reduce it. (As shown in my photo)
You have nice options for posing due to the steps, which are fairly wide.
If you like the color of the inside of the kiosk items (the Egyptian-like printing thing-a-ma-jiggy) I used 200/186/ 129 (dull olive green) at 26.2% intensity, spread angle 60, and was out far enough that the entire area outside the kiosk was included. When you go to your spotlight view, you should see the entire "plaza." EDIT: The distant shot with the dragon, I found another spotlight that was contributing to making that kiosk bright in the Egyptian print shot. So in addition to to the 200/186/129 (dull olive green) there is a brown/taupe at 200/ 186 /129 shining on it. (That second light is located out in the plaza, the distance is about where the bench is located. It is 76%)
IN PROGRESS, more views coming.
One thing I am noticing- this is a good set for a dragon to arrive and land due to the nice big landing area. I put a green spotlight on the dragon. (shining on the side, shooting UP)
http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/19756/P420/#348911
Go back and take a peek at Lycan Hunter- this outfit goes very nicely with the colors of this set.
Hello, I'm back. Been busy- I switched to version 4.6 for Daz Studio- no problems, so for those of you who are thinking about doing it, it was as simple as installing a product. Let me say though- I went into my C directory and copied all the files from Program Files (it will say Daz 3d) and from Program Data (same, Daz 3d) onto an external hard drive and renamed them Vs 4.5 so I'd know what they are. So had it crashed, or if I ever want vs 4.5 hopefully I got what I needed. I am NOT technical.
So, yes, I was awake when Genesis 2/ Victoria 6 was released, and yes, got 58% discount which was weird and bought the Pro Bundle and all related stuff that was 58% off. Saved about $15.00 and I think that DAZ should offer those prices to everyone. But they don't ask me. (The price was 58%, then full price, then 58%, then 51% all within fifteen minutes. When it went back to 58%, I leaped.)
The only character is Vianne, so let's put her in Pyrit Hair (see this thread, I am SOOOOOOO mad they pulled this hair. If you'd like to see it offered again, lend your voice! It's the hair that Kaetl (with the two baby dragons, my very first render) uses- and it has a lot of morphs, and in my experience, isn't wonky. If it is, it is certainly usable out of the box without any morphing, for Genesis. This is Genesis 2.
http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/24265/
Let's take a peek at V6, for those of you who don't have her. Here we go- in progress- we'll explore Vianne.
Let me first say- your V6 is going to come in ultra light- but wow, renders dark.
Can't add photos as it will be in reverse order. See next post
Just clicked "Apply Vianne Head" and am rendering now.
Here's the Apply Vianne Head.
But when I apply "All" materials for Vianne, YUCK. Those dark shadows under the eyes- seriously? So I am probably not supposed to add materials all. But when do you use that then? I've started a thread in The Commons because I am DUH.
So if I take OFF the "materials ALL" and do Makeup 01, this is what is rendered.
EDIT: Maybe the shadows are supposed to be that way. (IMO- BAD.) http://www.daz3d.com/vianne-for-victoria-6
You can also set the SSS (if I recall, Sub Surface Shaders?) to different strengths, (25, 50, or 75) the higher it went, the less shadows. BUT ANYTIME MAKEUP WAS ADDED I GOT THESE RESULTS. None were usable.
Okay, I got Vianne in the pro bundle so no harm, no foul. No use at all with makeup- ever.
All you can do is add the head- and no makeup options, no materials- and use the 75 SSS setting- and you'll get this. I'll rotate her around so you can see her. She's very usable this way without any makeup- and some of you may like her that way. But what the ???? with makeup putting even darker shadows UNDER her eyes? That seems glitchy to me.
But she is a fresh face beauty without the makeup. Will turn her and you'll see what I mean- she's very nice.
So here she is, SSS75, no makeup, no materials all options.
I normally would post it here, but I wanted other folks who aren't aware of this thread to see the fingers of the new Genesis 2. They are too curvy! (I get concave and convex mixed up all the time, but I think it's "cave" in- so let's just say the fingers are concave and bend too much- I call it being "fluid." Your fingers wouldn't bend this much even if you were a ballerina!
Go here and take a peek at the fingers.
http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/24272/#358209
And here's one last shot of that view. Now I'll try some other poses with the hands.
You're gonna LOVE these- will really show the Genesis 2 figure. I dressed her so we could continue, lol. She is in the top and shorts that come in the essentials. BTW- you all have that in your product library. (Genesis 2 Essentials.) You can go play! Dress her and try her- but keep in mind, this is Vianne for Victoria 6- so I am using the Victoria 6 model and not just Genesis 2.
Again, these are "out of the box" poses for V5, on V6/Vianne. Note the hands and feet. You'll like some things, not like others. Also note the creases of the hip where it bends, where arms bend, etc.
More coming- will do closeups of this too.
EDIT: Okay, you can see the hand didn't do so well going from V5 to Genesis 2/ V6 / Vianne. Geez, I don't know if I'm supposed to just say G2, or V6...so let's just simplify and say V6 as Vianne is a V6 character. Sheesh. EDIT: SEE BELOW, did my Cassini (V5) and the hand isn't that pretty to begin with!
Anyway, UGH with those fingernails. That second one looks like FUNGUS is growing on it! And the pose speaks for itself with the finger positions. I'll straighten them out for you and we'll see how my very first experiment with moving these V6 fingers goes.
Version 4.6: You will no longer have ANY jerky movements when you latch on to a finger and move it. It glides like silk. I am assuming this is the version and not Genesis 2, as it is a function of the program. Wow.
Anyway, I'm having to use Parameters for the bends, as the entire finger reacts. Here's that same hand, as I fixed it. I HATE THE PUFFY! These hands look like they have severe edema.
EDIT: PHOTO ADDED:
And the full length one: My hand looks much better than the one that was there. (Edited out- the lump is her wrist bone, as seen better from a different shot.)
I do like the lack of major crease in the buttocks/joining the hip- very nice!
The other hand speaks for itself.
EDIT: DOING CASSINI, my V5 character- to test that extreme pose. WOW, that hand looked bad, even on HER. The important thing to note- look at the bend of that back leg- there's a gap for V6, whereas Cassini's leg is nestled. I'm not athlete, but I just brought my leg up and it should be nestled IMO.
I added a photo that had them both side by side, and edited out the hand in front as I had fixed the one with V6 and that isn't a fair comparison. (It was a bad hand, just like V5 Cassini's. Dont know what they were thinking with that front hand pose- all crumpled up.)
Continuing on with the poses, I'm finding the V5 poses are coming in VERY similar to what they are supposed to be, and all I am doing is slightly dragging them to connect to the figure. Aka, the hand wasn't on her hip, it was off a tad. The hand wasn't on her leg.
Is it just me or is that elbow sticking out wonky?
Well, here's Cassini. Keep in mind these poses ARE for Victoria 5 (Cassini) You can see (although different arms) the elbow bending is quite natural. So that is a YUCK for Genesis 2 using V5 poses. Headed to the barn, back later
EDIT: Those are Jasmin clothes that Cassini is wearing.
Posed For Victoria 5
Might as well show you some more of the set and do a product review of it for you. These will have no changes.
Here's another one with Cassini. Not sure what she is doing in the one with her hands to head but it almost looks like a "nana nana boo boo" pose.
Udane Hair, Bree (Genesis 2 Starter Essentials) Darkwoods Heroine
This render took HOURS in vs4.6. Anyway, I didn't tweak it at all, this is with the Udane Hair without any tweaking. It appears there is a button on the Darkwoods Heroine outfit going into the arm, that should be an easy thing to tweak. Love the textures. This is just the starter essentials Bree.
EDIT: Set your scale for the shoulder piece to 100.9 if you are just using the standard V6 and that shoulder piece will be full size. It's not that the button is going in the arm, the sleeve isn't coming OUT.
IN PROGRESS: FULL BODY SHOT OF THIS OUTFIT. This is a full render and this one of the head/bust took HOURS so check back! Render started at 2:45am central time.
Here's just the boots- I am redoing the full body as the hair was going through the upper chest. Looked fine until it started coming in as a render. Thought I'd give you a sneak peek.
Here's the full length of Bree (starter essentials) with the Udane Hair and Darkwoods heroine. Again, be sure to click to enlarge, then click again.

Postwork Can Be Helpful
Although you spot render (that camera, up by the Universal Tool) you will find that rendering and spot rendering are not a perfect match. And sometimes doing a small area for spot rendering just doesn't quite give you the "real feel."
I play with brightness, contrast, and intensity in Corel Photo Paint if a render didn't turn out exactly as planned. Plus, I'm curious by nature, lol.
Be aware that in Corel, when you mess with intensity, it adds a different hue- just slightly- but there is a "hue" setting to adjust blue, yellow, magenta, cyan, etc back into your scene. For beginners who don't need the complexity of PhotoShop then Corel Draw (has Photo Paint) might work well for you. Get the 30 day trial- then you'll find these settings under "Adjust" You just move sliders. Easy smeesy. Have a bunch of renders ready so you can take full advantage of the 30 day trial!
Let me show you just what Corel Photo Paint can do- with the ease of just moving sliders. You started a render, left and came back hours later and UGH. Way too dark. But it's halfway through or almost done. Don't toss it unless you're in a rush- try postwork. There is a drawback to lightening your images in postwork, and we'll discuss that in the next post. (I'll show you what it is, and the solution- in both postwork and in the studio.)
Here are two images. Which one was the original and very dark, but now has postwork? Which one is done in the studio, no postwork? (They are two different poses but THE EXACT SAME LIGHT SET WITH ONE LIGHT'S INTENSITY TURNED DOWN)
So.....you think you're clever? Well, I'm sneaky.
When you lighten a scene, EVERYTHING lightens. So when looking at the two images, you immediately went looking for a brightened spotlight area- right? (It's okay if you didn't newbies! The pros were on the ball with that, I'm sure.)
However... I said the image with postwork- which includes darkening the spotlight areas. I even textured (by hand, nothing fancy.) Here's your answer on which one was originally the dark one- IT WAS THE SECOND ONE. (Scroll up and take a peek at the last photo.) On the postworked one, I lightened and intensified the scene, then the wall behind the arm was darkened in Corel Photo Paint and I went over the dark block lines, added back in white dots and splotches, and gray splotches.
So you can see the original (photo 1), the original with brightness and intensity postwork (photo 2, look at the bright wall), then the postwork with more work done on the wall. Ta-duh.
Corel Photo Paint- might want to give it a try. It would be CorelDraw Graphics Suite 6. I would only do the free trial- this is expensive, and you might decide for what you're doing, you don't need to postwork. I'm staying out of that argument, lol. This is just to show you what postwork can do. Next post, we'll discuss that spotlight problem of walls and objects behind the person/object being lit.
http://www.corel.com/corel/
Area Lights Vs Spotlights
So how do you avoid the spotlight shining on the wall? With the use of area lights. The light rays are more varied and provide a more even lighting, which means if you have to adjust your scene's light intensity, you won't have those spotlight areas on walls or background objects. Szark will get you started here! http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/14536/ LOOK AT DRAWING 1 TO SEE THE DIFFERENCE IN THE LIGHT RAYS.
I am getting ready to try these in the upcoming week(s) and I hope if you haven't, you'll give them a try. When I do, I'll share.
DMR Ellas Quest, Millennium SubDragon, Depth Of Field
I never finished posting all my observations about the DMR Ellas Quest-
If you noticed when I showed you the entire set, there is a neat wall for one of the perimeters, and it does NOT have a fence. (I didn't find a way to turn off the fences, I broke down the menu but didn't find a submenu for it. If I'm wrong, jump in!)
Note the depth of field- the background is blurry. Although you can use lighting and darken out the background (those spotlights with dark lights can really make a difference) it is neat to keep a background and blur it out (and you can always accompany that with lighting) I darkened the background a bit, but wanted to keep it. This was WIP as the backdrop was still black. But I love these poses. And how about the glistening scales from the Red Dragon texture set? (It is texture pack one for the subdragon, see the first posts on this dragon with links to all the products.)
This shows a darker render, and the emphasis is really on the front hand in this WIP. You see Cassini touching the dragon, but the lighting on the hand pulls your eye down.Be careful in dark renders - don't make them so dark that the characters' expressions and actions get lost.
TIP: Move Part Of Body Out Of The Render
Consider moving part of the body out of the shot- does that hip HAVE to be in the scene? ALL of her hair? Framing everything perfectly is gradeschool- kids put everything neatly into scenes. (Even if we have to say, "Tell me about your picture!" because we haven't a clue what it is....) Look at how Cassini goes out of the scene- we don't need all her hip, or her hair.
EDIT: These were all WIP's (work in progress) You can see the different approaches, the experimenting with light. I also tried the Genesis expressions in the second one- HATE it. It looks so stiff- and I barely tweaked "smile"- and I mean barely.
I changed the poses (arm bending more / less and elbow out further from dragon, changed the fingers, took things out of the scene, added lights, darkened areas where spotlights shone, changed the lighting, and then rotated and added a skydome and changed the lighting completely again for the shot without the Ellas Quest- and entered these into the new users contest.
Be sure and note I got that depth of field between the dragon's head and her hand. YESSSSSS!!!! Took awhile! Also note I took out the shrine piece so as not to distract from the dragon's head. It didn't add to the scene.

Opus Magnum and Pajamas For Genesis
Okay, here it is, the product review of Opus Magnum and Pajamas For Genesis- which the promo does NOT do justice.
http://www.daz3d.com/opus-magnum
http://www.daz3d.com/pajamas-for-genesis
Oh my goodness, those shelves are LOADED with bottles and jars with intricate labels- you'll love the Opus Magnum set! You can use it for SO many other scenes- look at the list! This is just the bookshelves! This is shown with a slightly grayish-blue lightset- the items are more white and a brighter color.
What I meant about the promo not doing justice- the Pajamas For Genesis comes with an awesome robe, with many, many morphs. I did have to increase the bust a bit more than I wanted, but the belt morphs are great. Be sure to break down the menu for the belt in Scene- it has SO many options (hip, left pelvis, left shin, left panel- and then the right side, same options.) The robe has the option to group the material at the belt- very realistic. More photos coming- these full renders take awhile. Shown in Cassini wearing the ROBE.
However- You may have to make the pajamas invisible though for arm action scenes (from the side like as pictured, where the pajamas do not show) and just casual movement. I am not impressed with this robe in that regard. I could NOT get the pajamas to stop poke through, with collision, smoothing, or the morphs- without a lot of tweaking or making Cassini bigger. I'm looking right now at sleeve options.
I also looked in the Parameters and in Styles, it's just the grouping at the belt. Movement- it's all movement and opening of the bottom of the robe. Adjustments- buttocks and breasts. So frankly- the sleeve adjustments are a pain unless that submenu breaks down further. Going to look into that now.
I'm not saying you HAVE to turn off the pajamas, but this was not an easy robe to work with so far as just plop it on. But anytime you work with things going over another item, it requires tweaking.. It's the first time I had to change the WEIGHT (to .39) to get the collar detail which runs down the front, to NOT disappear from the swell of the breasts. So if you have trouble with that too- head for the weight slider!
If someone has an easier time with this, please feel free to post and share your experience. All I can say is Cassini is a slender frame, not a large busted woman,(had to increase bust to get robe to fit) and those pajamas just don't want to go under this robe for the sleeves, and the long collar (lapels) going down the front were time consuming to fit. I can only post my experience in comparison to other products, "out of the box." The robe is not an easy item IMO- be prepared to possibly spend time on it.
EDIT: Also notice the lumpiness of the underside of the breast. Not impressive- but a robe over pajamas would, I guess, be lumpy. (PJ's are turned off, don't know how that affects the overgarment. If off, supposedly they are not in the scene and should not affect the robe.) Also, looking at it, the bust has intruded on the arm. Oh well- this is to show you the products, not perfect renders. I'd fix that if this were a keeper.
The Bottle Fixer Post
You'll know what I mean once you read the post.
Here's another angle- wow, there's even cracks inside the containers- what details!
In case you're interested (remember I render "as is, out of the box" unless I see something glaringly wrong) that is bottle 6 that is almost transparent. The diffuse was 60%, glossy 90%, and opacity strength was 100%- surprised me! (Multiply Specular Through Opacity was ON) Ambient was a medium gray at 100%, Specular white at 80%, so what's the deal here? No unusual settings, bump strength was 100% but it was .010 for positive and negative -.010, the reflection was white 20% (and moving that didn't change it.) Refraction not on.
So what's the mystery about bottle 6, the almost invisible one on the bottom shelf closest to her hands?
Let's check out another bottle. I'm going to the one on the next shelf above that, to the far left, first tall bottle.
Diffuse 35%, (not 60) glossy 80% (not 90) opacity strength 100 (same, 100) Multiply Specular ON (same) Ambient same color gray, ZERO (NOT 100%)- AHA. Specular white at 70% (not 80%) bump settings the same, reflection was 25% (not 20) refraction not on.
So there ya go. If you have this set, you know what to tweak. Bookmark! (This may be helpful for other bottles. We'll call this the Bottle FiIxer post, lol.)
Anyway, you'll appreciate all the details when you click to enlarge. A WONDERFUL set (minus a ghost bottle that can be tweaked.)
And you'll see the details on the pajamas. Wonderful details, even on the seams. I've got to go tweak Cassini's hair by the ear.
I'll do a frontal of the pj's then we're going to dive in to Pure Hair and check it out on Genesis 2 Victoria. Someone posted a question about that on a thread, so we'll jump in and check how those hair styles work! I have 20 of them, but I am not going to let it monopolize the thread, we'll do quite a few though.
BE SURE TO CLICK AGAIN ONCE YOU CLICK TO ENLARGE, and look at that open container next to the "ghost bottle." Look at the cracks inside!!!
TITLE: "Where Are You Going?" (LOL)
Opus Magnum and Pajamas For Genesis
Because of the sheer volume of items in this set, I've pulled a few and done a collage around Cassini in the pajamas, front view. This may take half an hour to an hour to render, but check back to see the lectern, logs (yes, if you need a good set, there is logs and also a single log) and a detailed Old World globe (huge in size, I did not change it so you'd see how big it is!) and there is a cauldron-like firepit that you can move around, a lectern with an open book with detailed writing and a feather quill pen, and one of the three pictures, very detailed. The three pictures are quite varied.
The items in back are dark but I really wanted to postwork and intensify so you can see that picture in front. Wow. Also how the fire looks.
The pajamas are an easy fit, the slippers went on perfectly and are adorable. Hope you enjoyed the pajamas and Opus Magnum. Also if you remember, I featured the table full of items awhile ago (with Sophia, the blue and purple hair) I'll come back sometime in the future and do more, but there are so many other sets, I can't spend days on just one. You get the idea- the set is loaded and wonderful quality of course!
Click to enlarge, click again- and read the print in the book!
