Slimmed her down a bit- she looked too rugged to be in this dress.Outfits in the "warrior" person bundle make no sense. As someone said, "A jogger?" (Warriors run away I guess.)

EDIT: I'm going to turn her a bit and see if that line on her chest disappears. EDIT: If you get a line like that, check "Sternum size." A slight adjustment and it will disappear. It depends on how big your chest size is as to whether it will appear- it's related to cleavage. If you have very little cleavage, the sternum setting didn't create the line.

In case you are buying some of the promos and are getting the additional discounts off the featured stores, want to point out several for V4 that looks like they really has usable "sitting" morphs for a skirt. If you need business type skirts or "nice" skirts in general, look at the poses in the thumbnails for these. I'm getting the running shoes and hand poses so am getting discounts off this store. If these skirts are actually easy to use for sitting, they're worth it!

    http://www.daz3d.com/classic-dressy-2-for-v4
    http://www.daz3d.com/evening-dress-for-v4

And currently, the promo off is off the price, even if its on sale, so this is 30% plus the 40% (which is great for Aiko 5) It will be an additional $3.53 off at 50%. (Tested it in the cart)

    http://www.daz3d.com/forever-fantasy-poses

Also note this bundle: it's poses for both V4 and Genesis- for less than the cost of the regular V4 product. It has some really good poses that you can easily adapt to make your own. From doing a lot of presets, I am getting good at spotting which ones are easy to move vs the ones that yank the shoulders, lol. I think you'd like this bundle!

    http://www.daz3d.com/waiting-in-line-too
    http://www.daz3d.com/waiting-in-line
Take a look at both of these, above. The props are included. Another 50% off if you own V6 (or 40% if you buy the promos)

One of my favorites- also discounted- Goes on sale periodically, so don't worry about grabbing it this time if you don't have enough money.
    http://www.daz3d.com/the-wisteria-pool-house

Doing kid scenes? MUST HAVES. Same deal, on sale. READ WHAT'S INCLUDED and the color options!

And congrats to Slosh on his eyewear collection!! Be sure and check these out! A very nice, helpful person on the forums. SO pleased to see this product.

Great thread Novica. I liked the idea of rotating the floor to make a cliff edge. I will have to try that out. I'm also going to have to read the entire thread. Lots of great info here!

Thanks- I really wish I could have spent more time with it to do more detailed postwork. I have to sacrifice quality and do faster examples to get the ideas out there. (You'd never see some of it, lol.) It really changes the way you look at floors! If you ever use them would love to see one of your experiments :)

Haven't tried these yet but I think they'd be fun for backdrops-

http://www.daz3d.com/landscapes/infinite-gardens (look at the walkway. Love it! Also could use the wooden deck and flip it.)

http://www.daz3d.com/dm-mirador (the lion would be fun in that floor- with DOF so as not to distract too much)

I bought infinite gardens on impulse, and didn't use it immeadiatly, but tried it lately and the props individually are quite nice. The stone wall in particular is a great prop very detailed. I do not have dm-mirador, but dm stuff is usually quite nice.

    The Windmill
    http://www.daz3d.com/the-windmill

Not going to do fancy lighting, just enough to get by- so you can see The Windmill and the various nooks and crannies. Plopped Cassidy (Aiko 5) in the scene so you can get a size comparison.

It IS impressive. You will have so much fun when you get it. I'll be adding tulips to any scenes I do- I think that would be technically correct too? Anyway, they'd be pretty!

Here's one with all the lights that I added (about three spotlights, one distant light) turned OFF for the underneath side where Cassidy is. Then with them turned on. Wanted to test what light was necessary if you want to include details under the windmill. They are definitely needed, lol.

Coming, the one with lights back on that I added below, and a spotlight added from above but placed so it shines through the windows and lights the inside details.

I will be rotating around and giving you a different view, and drawing back and giving you an entire scene view. Tonight is Windmill night!

As a Dutchie, this made me giggle. Windmills and tulips. Who's going to make wooden shoes? ;)

I do like the windmill, though. I know I could look it up, but I'm horribly lazy. Does it come with the ground plane?

    Windmill promo thread:
    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/25662/

I have posted a closeup of the line that is in the scene- be aware this has been noted to Merlin so they are probably looking into it. One person had a pretty low shading rate and still getting the line. Will post the bigger image in a few minutes, but wanted you to see what I'm referring to with just this clipped view. Look behind the windmill, looks like a telephone line, albeit a thin one. Reminds me of the Sprint commercial. "Can you hear me now?"

I actually thought of you and Totte and was hoping one of you would post! Can you tell me about where you live? I'm fascinated! (And I had thought about finding some of the shoes, lol!)

Merlin's sets are awesome. Everything is included, even the inside of the "millers shack." I'm rotating around so you can see the expansive background- think Cyclorama type scenes. This would be a GREAT set for outdoors backgrounds, and the terrain is awesome too. But no surprise, it's Merlin, right?!

    The Windmill

Okay, trying to do several things at once- first, showing you the product. Second, mentioning to newbies a couple things about lighting (and no, this isn't lit the way I would for a final render. Another quickie. But here's what I want to mention:

When you use distant lights, if you have spotlights or point lights or ANY other lights on your figures that is set the way you want them, remember to turn those other lights down. The distant light adds light to a large area, so the best way to test how much is being cast on your figures is to turn all the lights OFF and then turn on your distant light. I left Cassidy in the scene with all the lights ON which I had placed on that lower level- so you can see how washed out she is getting. (Geez, I hope people are bothering to read what goes with these images, or they're going to be surfing through going "That chick really needs to..." !! You've seen my lighting in competitions- this isn't one of 'em, lol!)

Anyway, I added a distant light to the left, coming from the front/ slightly side, and from the other side, much dimmer- I wanted to show you what a 45% distant light would do for the shingles which were totally darkened out otherwise. You can tell how far away the distant light was, because I deliberately just rotated around from the render view from the front. (So in other words, if you are that far away in your scene from the front, then just rotate and do a "Copy Perspective View" when you create your distant light. (Remember- the distant light intensity was 45 percent for that side with the shingles.)

Next up, will show you the side view, light settings the same- the side will be darker as my light sources are from the front/ slightly to the side. None of these lights have been finessed, but they're okay to get the product view across. Remember, this set comes with fantastic lights- see the promos!

Considering to get this one. I love Merlin's stuff! It's just that with my usual.. subjects.. I might not get much use out of it, but we'll see about that :)

About where I live.. Anything specific you'd like to know? Not much fascinating about the teeny tiny village I live in :) There are farms and even a few windmills nearby, (one in the next town is still used to grind various types of grain, but more as cultural preservation than anything else, but it is but not much in the way of tulips or other bulb flowers. It's mosly flat and speckled with cows, sheep and the occasional horse. I often say that drawing a Dutch landscape is easy: a stripe of gray over a stripe of green. Which is not accurate at all today, because it looks uncharacteristically sunny. And yes, complaining about the weather - too cold, too wet, to warm, too dry- is so much a tradition here, that I am convinced it's in our genes.

Here's a winterview from my attic window to show some of the flatness ;)

You're making me COLD with that photo, lol! Last week it wasn't unusual for it to be 85 degrees at 10pm at night! (Florida.) I was just commenting to Slosh that we'd better get ready for hurricane season this year!

Beautiful neighborhood btw. I was trying to figure out what cars you have that we have, specifically what you have that we don't, lol! But let's discuss the tulips. Are they more of a promotional gimmick then, or are they more geographically found in one locale/region than other areas? SIGH- I pictured people wading down the streets, knee deep in flowers, with tulip petals being pushed aside at every stoplight...

But I have to smile, because in the midwest where I grew up (go Hoosiers!) some of my neighbors who hadn't been south to Florida thought everyone had palm trees in their yards. (I do, but had to PLANT them, they don't just pop up!) While you're showing snow, I'm sending you some Sunshine Blooms from Florida- yes, these are an actual sample from my front yard, shot in May :) You can see why I was curious about your flowers now, lol!

And found some of the bottlebrush tree (first few photos) and one shot looking up into the palm tree. Some of these are turned so they'd all fit together, but you get the gist.

Okay, back to The Windmill. This is a side view with the low intensity distant light. I left the spotlights on the lower level (which would be off for an artistic render) and I would be increasing the lighting. Just want you to see consistent lighting so not changing it. Love that background! (I was tempted to put a red "X" and an arrow pointing to the hills with "Mori_Mann is HERE." I decided to behave myself.)

Next render is almost done of The Windmill- and WOW. You're going to love the view!

Meanwhile, I've been surfing. There's a thread that has snuck by some folks and the work is, well...you take a peek, and perhaps share with the artist what you think. Remember, the Art Studio threads are not only to share work, but to get encouragement, feedback, and even a simple "thanks for sharing." It takes a lot of guts to put yourself out there (unless you're ME and I post all my "what the heck?" stuff, lol, since it's a learning thread.) The artist below certainly has renders that should be showcased! (I'm jealous.)

There's one area where most flower bulbs (not only tulips) are 'bred' (brain refuses to cough up the correct word). It's called the 'bollenstreek' (flower bulb area?), that looks a bit like the pic in this googled link http://eurekavakantiehuisjes.nl/wp-content/uploads/bollenveld.jpg. Pretty, isn't it? Many of them are intended for exporting, but many and more people have some tulips in their gardens or in their homes, especially during spring time. They are not really naturally occurring, sadly. But then, there is not a lot of 'natural' going on in the Netherlands, because it's a tiny little county and pretty full with buildings. Sad, really.

No garden or flower pics here, as we're currently trying to claim back the path and terrace bits of the garden for ourselves. Grass and weeds are taking over after this period of extended cold and wet weather. It's only been decent for about a week now.

I would not make the mistake of assuming specifics about people living in certain countries/areas. Comes with having to disappoint people that, no, we're not all living in windmills, eating cheese, wearing wooden shoes and growing tulips while milking cows ;)

I can agree with that, lol- people assume because we live in Florida that we surf, go to the beach regularly (only live 20 minutes away) and we lounge around the pool every weekend. We're too busy doing weeds and mowing the grass, just like everyone else! (THEN we get in the pool if time permits, lol. Some of us (ahem) head to the barn.)

That is a gorgeous photo!!!! I always hate to see when there is a end of the winter cold snap here in the States and flowers which bloom in the Spring get clobbered and die before they have a chance to strut their stuff that people wait all year to see.

And the last one (for now.) It's going on 6am and I'm headed to the barn. I was within 30-50 feet of a lightening strike yesterday morning (in the barn) with the nasty weather that keeps rolling in off the bay. I managed to get the horses in the barn, and then lightening struck a tree in the pasture there. Been raining hard for a WEEK. (And just checked- it's 80 degrees right now at 5:50am! RealFeel is 86) No rain in the area, so headed out to relax.

But here's the render! Same lighting as before, no changes to keep it consistent.

Going to remind you of a tip- it's linked in my helpful links post but here was the original thread-
    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/25134/

The Windmill set is huge. Watch how fast I can get back to Cassidy! I will select her in Scene tab, then hit the Camera Frame Button (square with plus sign in the middle) Very helpful for scrolling back and forth between characters, props, etc in a huge scene!

That took less than five seconds. What fun!

Reminder- keep checking my links section for fast tips. I work on it a few times a week. http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/19756/P285/#336419

    Alanna Hair

    https://www.daz3d.com/alanna-hair
This was in the bundle that I bought (Gia 6) So NO, I didn't buy it separately. You may have better results than this, this was barely moving the front sections off the chest and just moving the entire thing slightly over toward the center of the chest. No big morphs done. It may take a lot more finessing to get it where it goes together, to me (and just my opinion) some of the sections don't line up, there are lines going horizontally where there shouldn't be, almost like section lines. If you have good results, feel free to share. (I don't want to be unfair to a product, but these were my results and they are what they are. This is out of the box so far as the strands go. I didn't mess them up!)

EDIT: Yes, this was on the model it was intended for- Gia.

Yikes. That looks problematic. I wondered about it when I saw it rendered in the promo shots.
