We don't want to go down "that" road now Alexa. All we want is for new people to not come in and fudge on the rules while the rest of us have be going by them just because they are new and it's ok. We are not attempting to discourage newbies from entering or trying to be elitists, and it's not a matter of caring or not if new people come in. that is just plain silly to even say that. Do you think we should throw the contest in the wind because we want more new people to enter? I don't understand what you said about newbies trying to have fun and getting wailed on. I don't think anyone here has done that. On the contrary, we encourage questions and only get upset when someone refuses to comply with the rules set forth in our contest. And YES try to have us change the rule for their benefit, which is rare, but has happened before. What is "not cool" is blindly not seeing all of this as us trying to be fair and make this a fair competition. pity you didn't see all of this before you posted in the thread.
We do encourage new people to join and enter. And I hope that anyone new here doesn't see this as the ugly side of this thread and leave. We really are passionate here about having fun and working things out the best we can. We all must remember, some rules were meant to,follow. The ISP that houses the gallery server was hit with a flash flood this last week and is having problems with the utility lines in the area while the city tries to cope with the issues. If you are getting the X's then just refresh and they should update.

Let's be honest here, there have been a few who came in and, yes, they wanted special treatment and didn't think the rules should apply to them, but these rules apply to ALL so no one is singleing any newbies out here. There are rules in every aspect of life, and in my opinion, way too many folks that break them daily. That's why we live in fear here in America of home invasions and such. Folks just think they are special and don't have to follow any rules, so they just take what they want and kill or beat who they want. That's what jails with bars are for. People out of control !!!

The luxrender engine is really great for realism but boy does it take forever. The rendering process alone took close to 16 hours on my poor laptop. Thought it was going to burn out something. ; )
