Thank you so much! I do try to do different things / angles. I loved Tisiphony above so much - she was the most fun to do. She had crazy makeup, fun background, hair movement - I just wanted to do that one over and over! The other sisters had their own niche tho, and it would not be fair to them to make them basically clones. ...or would it....

So I watched Star Wars last night. I planned to do a dark / black leather / red lighting Kylo Ren type of character this morning using Owen. I downloaded Owen, and did a little experimenting with 50% Owen and other guys cause I read in the forums that's what you guys do. I want to not be a lemming, but understand what you're doing and why. SOOOO.... I'm searching for the perfect black outfit and the model says to me...

@IceDragonArt - Thank You! The furies were a labor of love for me really. My motorcycle plate used to read 'Furies' until the people at work were convinced I was a 'furry'. My license plate now reads 'Alecto'.
@themidget - you working on a new icon? Your icon is missing.
LOL @ItsCeo, I don't feel very productive. Things are slowly coming together but I got a new car last Friday and my brain is not focused much on my graphic novel. I just want to DRIVE!!

@ItsCeo - First, Woe was a really cool transformation. You deserve props for that. I think your idea for updating the furies very cool. I sometimes kick around ideas of a similar nature, but they never seem to come to the forefront of my mind. I think you've got fuel for some great storytelling with these.

Dangit @IceDragonArt and @Saphirewild. I was blissful in my ignorance. I would do no postwork, zero, none. But nooooo... you had to plant the seed of learning into my head! So I made the first render. I love it. (As a tangent, I have an Nvidia card so everything I make is Iray - she took like 3 or 4 minutes to bake). Normally I open something up in Paint to crop it and zip-zip done. For some reason it opened in an app named 'Photos' (MS Photos?). Well, there was an edit button so I decided to crop it with this app instead.
Cropping accomplished, I noticed 'enhance' and 'adjust' buttons (what's this?...). With just one slider I turned pic one into pic 2 - which I enjoy infinitely more! It's like a grey layer was peeled away! Her leather outfit SHINES in pic 2! It's amazing! Pic 2 has sharp definition, and I like that!
It's not Gimp or Photoshop, but it is very eye opening for me. Thank you for your feedback - that's why I made this thread. I want to grow.

Basically I just used the "Surface (color)" tab to change colors and opaquicty... opaquetutiy... opa.. see-thru-ness of the wings. I had them looking like aluminum foil for a bit, but it was too much.

The Awakening of Bast
I have literally spent a couple days trying to get the perfect title to describe what is going on in the picture above when it dawned on me, let the viewer read into it what they will. What do YOU think is going on here? Idecided to simply name it... Lilli.
In the past few monthsI have made several 'night-time' renders that I thought just didn't look good, so I didn't post. They would be too dark overall, or seemingly night in the background with dazzliing bright light on the subjects. I am really happy with Lilli. I get the feeling of nighttime.
I do appreciate any feedback to make this a better. What would you have done differently? Is the backdrop ok?
HAHA!! When I wrote the above, the pic looked like below. My whole point was the emotion on her face, so I thot, WHAT am I doing with all this extra body! So I deleted my original gallery entry and focused on her face close-up. I like it better, what do you think - which is better?
I think I like the closeup of the faces better.
And really, really like the Bast render. The intent to inflict havoc is really obvious. That poor dude on the left on fire!
Thanks @Novica! I had so much fun with the Bast render, plus I just learned copy / dup of an asset so the firey guys were perfect for that!
I agree with Novica, the sheer devastation she is radiating is awesome. You can tell she is up to no good.
I really like the close up a lot better than the original. On the original, the lighter skin on the lower half off the image draws the eyes away from their faces which is where all the emotion is. I really like the close up, its really tells a story.
The close up is really cool. Bast looks really menacing and it's a great render but perhaps some cats?
